Great phone

I received my phone on release day and I am writing this review solely because I keep seeing complaints about the battery life. I am not sure what you guys are doing or what you are comparing this phone’s battery life to. I upgraded from an iPhone X that I have had since release day. My old phone was at 80% battery capacity and was a 64GB. I bought a 256GB mini and the battery life is an improvement. I can make it through my entire workday without charging while listening to music/streaming. It’s faster and less laggy. Camera is a huge upgrade. Most importantly a great size for my hands as my X was always a little too big for me. I actually initially purchase an iPhone 12 and returned it because I couldn’t get over the size - slightly bigger than the X but it was very noticeable (to me!). Hope this is helpful for anyone on the fence.

Horrendous battery life

Only lasts about 5 hours with limited use and background services turned off. Nice size, horrible battery life considering it’s a brand new phone. I don’t recommend unless you are planning on charging it more than you actually use it.

Powerful. Petite. Purple!

I recently upgraded to a new purple iPhone 12 Mini after trading in my mint condition iPhone XR (purchased from T-Mobile last year) and thereby earning a generous discount over the stiff asking price for this latest i-offering from Apple. The diminutive device fits comfortably in my hand or my front pants pocket. Not much larger than an iPhone 5S (also purchased from T-Mobile a few years back), it sports a screen larger than that of an iPhone SE 2. The straight edges and clean lines of the phone's body harken back to the industrial design language of yore and make the phone less prone to slipping out of one's hand. It shares the same processing horsepower as its super sized siblings, a fact which should not be lost on anyone considering a purchase. Despite not having some of the more advanced camera optics and digital media features that its bigger and pricier cousins offer, the iPhone 12 Mini is quite a capable device that will provide more than satisfactory performance for the average consumer. While the pastel hued case is striking, I do wish it had received a coating of a much deeper and richer shade of purple. But that's nothing that an appropriately painted case couldn't fix. Despite its small size, it is a capable ereader and music player. A vast number of apps on the Apple App Store can be installed and used on this model with no compromises. By opting for this most compact of the latest crop of iPhones, one doesn't sacrifice functionality or performance. It's a solid investment that will please all but the most demanding user.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A phone to replace a point and shoot camera!

I have had the Iphone 12 mini for exactly a month now. It turned out to be a great phone which fit perfectly in my hands, offering great screen quality and speed to do just about anything you throw at it. The connectivity has been stellar in the sense that while out and about I was able to get it to a download speed of over 250 Mbps on 5G and that was the fastest which was not available all the time. Some spots had very low speeds too like 15 Mbps and switching to only LTE mode yielded much better results at over 50 Mbps. In time this should improve as more and more towers are being built and put into service. Anyway as of now I would not recommend this phone just for 5G functionality alone. As for the photography aspect is concerned it takes fantastic images and does even go one step further when it comes to video. In my opinion, the video from this phone is as good/or dare I say better than any Android phone out there at any price. My last Android was the Galaxy S10 and it was nowhere near in terms of both the image quality as well as video quality. After having owned every Samsung flagship since Galaxy S4 all the way to the S10. The night mode on the Samsung was very disappointing indeed, I never like how its jpeg processing engine computer the final image, it was always unnatural to my eyes. I felt that Samsung was going in a path that I did not want to follow and noted along the way that the Iphone was going in the right direction and has more to offer to me than the Samsung. Now coming to display and that is what is of some concern to me. My old eyes are not able to resolve the screen well and I have a problem reading the text even though I tried everything that the IOS software offered namely, switching to zoomed instead of standard, increasing the size of text, using dark more for better readability etc etc. None of it worked and I continued to have difficulty. I am pretty sure for younger folks this would not be a problem with their great vision but for me it is an issue I am not able to solve. The other problem I encountered is the small battery and I had to every once in a while charge it during the day for the second time especially if I was out and about using the GPS, doing photography and checking messages and mail on top of using social media. Of course I never had any issue while I was out and about (since I could plug the phone in and charge it while driving) but the fact of the matter is there was no way I could use the phone without worrying about the battery dying on me when I needed it most. I did create a shortcut for the software to kick-in and switch to low power mode automatically when the battery was at 30% charge. This was the other problem I am unable to really solve. Other than the two issues I mentioned above there is absolutely no other issue with the phone and most of the bugs have already been fixed with the software updates from Apple. This phone would suit very well who are looking for a phone they can easily handle with one hand and feels good in the hand. If you are not a heavy user and can manage the smaller battery and screen this may be one of the best phones out there in this price range. I have decided to move on to the Iphone 12 to address the two issues I had.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Phone of the year

For sure this is the best example of what phones can be. I have a MacBook Pro and Apple Watch so this just added the finishing touches to just what I was looking for. I traded in my 11 and got the 128 black and I like it better than my pixel 4xl and my S20, this size is too good to be true.... unless you use your phone for everything like games and editing photos and videos all day only on a phone then get a bigger one but if you just want a phone to use it for what a phone is used for (texting, calls, a few videos, pictures) and all other stuff on a computer or iPad get this phone. I’m still an Android guy but have to say this is a perfect device, tired of big phones.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A unique and beautiful color! I LOVE THIS PHONE!!

I received my new device on March 22nd, 2021. I’ve enjoyed it ever since! I have small hands at the age of 26, and it’s just so much easier to hold in one hand to swipe text and fits in my pockets without bulging out my pockets! I love how it has a full screen now, but the notch doesn’t bother me at all! I chose the 256G because I plan to have this phone for a few years or more. The 128G on the original iPhone SE lasted me 5yrs! This will last me just the same or more! I could go on and on, but it was worth the wait and I’m glad I made the upgrade!

Yes, I recommend this product.

IPhone 12 mini

It does it all, very easy to use. I do not believe the OLED technology is as great as all the manufacturers are pretending it is. My iPhone se2 has a better screen than this latest model. 5G is literally non existent. It’s obvious the carriers are pretending that 4g is the new 5G. There is absolutely no perceptible speed differences at all. Hopefully it changes over time. I love the full screen in this smaller form factor. A 6” screen was a little too big to deal with for me. I thought I would hate the Face ID feature but I’ve quickly come to love it. Now if they could just bring the price tag back down a bit.

Best iPhone yet

Not only is this tiny mint phone absolutely ADORABLE (which is one of the biggest selling points for me) I can’t get over how awesome the features are, like the 12 mp cameras that take such detailed photos, waterproof feature of course, and surprisingly night mode. I had my last iPhone for 4 years, iPhone 5se 1, so this is a massive upgrade for me. It was easy to pick the brand new iPhone 12 mini because the financing options are so affordable. I plan on having this phone for 4 years as well and I know it’ll last with all the new features it has. BASICALLY I’m totally in love with my new phone!! Thank you T-Mobile!

Yes, I recommend this product.
