GREAT Improvement over Previous T-Mobile Hotspot

This JexTream 5G hotspot is a HUGE improvement over their previous 5G hotspot offering. No more overheating, no more having to restart the device if you travel through an area with no service.. this thing just works, and works dependably. Very impressed with this and a huge improvement over my experience with their prior 5G hotspot device, which I had to return and exchange twice with no improvement. If you need a great 5G mobile hotspot device, this JeXTream device is the one to pick.

Not good Battery.

I bought 03/27/2023. I have used two days. I took a 100gb plan/month. Not at all a good connection. I can not even open my outlook. Also, the battery max 6 hrs will stay. The device is also slow.

Buyer beware, I travel several states for my job. This device has a hard time staying to the network. I was constantly on the phone with support and the results were short lived.

“World Class Service” is a joke!

The device works as expected but within 3 months the power port disconnected from the motherboard and the battery could not be charged. I expected T-Mobile to replace the device but they do not stand behind any of their devices. I did not want to purchase another one that would eventually have the same problem so I purchased a battery charger and an extra battery, which has extended the life of this poorly designed device. T-Mobile will not tell you about this work around. Also, the 100Gig data is severely throttled after you use 50Gig, to the point it is almost useless.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Junk, Slow speed, many dropped packets

If you're trying to stream rtmp DO NOT BUY THIS. This device doesn't even compare to a cell phone on any level. Which is sad! This device is made to be a hotspot. However, it's extremely slow(1/3rd of the speed my 22 Ultra gets) and does not report accurate usage. Between 2 min of streaming and maybe 10ish speed tests of only 40Mb each it said I used 6Gb of data. I streamed on my cell with 1:30 hours of streaming and just as many speed tests and I only used 3GB. The 2minutes of streaming is because it keeps disconnecting constantly. It cannot maintain a good connection. I cannot recommend this to anyone doing mobile live streaming. It just causes more headaches than it's worth. I'm sure it's fine for regular computer/VPN/web browsing but rtmp will disconnect you with a few dropped packets. On top of that just slow. I ended up adding a 30Gb plan to my cell phone in order to do the streaming I need to do.

TOTAL JUNK. CONSTANTLY REBOOTS WHEN IT GETS WARM

I have only had this hotspot for a few months and this piece of junk constantly reboots when it gets warm. Which naturally happens with use. So be advised, if you use it, it will get warm and will start rebooting itself. It happened 5 times today. And just to kick me some more, I will have to pay a "warranty service fee" to get it exchanged under warranty.

I had some issues with it not finding DNS's when I would let the computer idle for awhile. This would cause web pages not to load properly. I found that it had the default NAT Time Out set for 400 seconds. I changed this to 86400 (24 Hours - which is a standard default) and I haven't had any more problems with it yet.

Ok device/100 gig plan totally inadequate

Somehow, even with the device turned off and myself only in control of it, usage was logged on my account. I was out of data before the end of the period, and I was quite conservative with turning it on/off. I cannot imagine if someone had multiple devices connected to the hotspot on a 100 gig/per month plan. While T-mobile credited me $50 for my troubles, I still owe $130+ on the hotspot. Initially, the customer service rep did not even want to cancel this plan associated with the hotspot, he wanted to offer me a suspension for only $5 a month instead. Thankfully, I was finally able to cancel the plan completely, and I will hope for a Christmas miracle that someone will buy this hotspot. As far as connectivity, it was ok in my remote area of Maryland. There were definitely times where I could not access certain websites for long periods of time. When I called customer service about not being able to access certain websites, I was told I was probably too far away from the tower.

Works better than Verizon

I've been using Verizon hotspots since 2010. We live in rural VA where Verizon and AT&T provide very little if any coverage. I had heard that T-Mobile knows this and focuses their service on these areas. I bought this unit and was not disappointed. From the moment I got it set up and we connected the difference was mind blowing. My webpages were loading in seconds. One website I loved always loaded very slowly. I used to get so frustrated trying to load videos that I just gave up. Then all of a sudden with this hot spot it loaded in 2 seconds. I clicked on a video and it started. What more can I say? If your used to city or suburb bandwidth you won't be impressed. But if you've ever been overlooked by the big providers you'll love it. People don't understand. When you live in the country where providers "DON'T CARE" it's refreshing to get one that does. It's so good I want a second one. I blew through 100GB in 18 days.
