Admin page
 

Access Admin Page using Wi-Fi

  1. Connect to the Mobile HotSpot via Wi-Fi.
  2. Launch an available web browser on your connected device and go to http://mobile.hotspot/. If the URL doesn't work, you may also enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar.
  3. Enter the Admin Page administrator password. (Default password: admin)
  4. Select Login.

Access Admin Page using USB

  1. With the device turned off, connect the hotspot device to a PC with the included USB cable.
  2. Turn on the device.
  3. The OS detects and recognizes new hardware and finishes the installation automatically. After successful installation, the Hotspot icon will appear on your desktop.
  4. If the system does not launch installation automatically, you can run the installation program in path of (My) Computer > Mobile Hotspot > choose folder based on your OS > Run set-up.exe.
  5. Double-press the icon to open the Admin Page login screen.
  6. Enter the Admin Page administrator password. (Default password: admin)
  7. Select Login.

Change Admin password

  1. Access http://Mobile.Hotspot.
  2. Select the Settings tab, then select Device Settings.
  3. Follow the steps under 'Account Management' to update your password.
  4. Select Apply. If everything is entered correctly, the 'Admin Password Changed' dialog appears indicating the password was successfully changed.

Change Mobile Hotspot network name (SSID)

  1. Access http://Mobile.Hotspot.
  2. Select Settings in the navigation.
  3. Select the Wi-Fi Settings tab.
  4. Change the name that appears in the 'Network Name (SSID)' field in the SSID area.
  5. Select or deselect the Broadcast Network Name (SSID) checkbox to enable or disable broadcasting the hotspot’s Network Name (SSID).
  6. Select Apply to save your changes on the Wi-Fi Settings tab of the 'Settings' screen.

Change Mobile Hotspot password

  1. Access http://Mobile.Hotspot.
  2. Select Settings in the navigation area.
  3. Select the 'Wi-Fi Settings' tab.
  4. Change the value that appears in the Password field in the SSID area.
  5. Select Apply to save your changes on the 'Wi-Fi Settings' tab of the 'Settings' screen.

    • High performance (Longer Wi-Fi range but shorter battery life)
    • Economy mode (Shorter Wi-Fi range but longer battery life)

Battery saving mode settings

  2. Select the Settings tab, then select Device Settings.

  4. Under the Wi-Fi Sleep Settings heading, choose one of the following for Sleep Time:
    Note: Shorter durations will increase battery life while Wi-Fi is not in use.
    • After 10 minutes idle
    • After 15 minutes idle
    • After 20 minutes idle
    • After 30 minutes idle
    • After 60 minutes idle
    • Never go to Standby

Tips to save battery life

  • Change application sync settings
  • Lower screen brightness and timeout duration
  • Turn on Airplane Mode if traveling to an area without mobile signal or Wi-Fi
  • Turn off background data
  • Turn off Wi-Fi
  • Uninstall unused apps
  • Update to the latest software

 

Set device to sleep when unused

Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.

 
SIM card
 
  1. Open the SIM door.
  2. Insert the SIM card, notched end first, with the gold contacts facing toward the front of the device until it locks into place.

  4. Close the SIM door.
  5. To remove the SIM card, push it in and release so it pops out.

APN & data settings

  1. Access the mobile hotspot admin page.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Select Network Settings.
  4. Under the APN heading, confirm the information entered is correct.
  5. To correct APN information, select Manual.
  6. Select Add New.
  7. Enter the following information:
    • Profile Name: T-Mobile
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  8. Select Apply.

Manual network selection

The device detects and registers on wireless networks inside T-Mobile’s calling area, but roaming networks are usually restricted to T-Mobile SIM cards. You can manually select a network only in areas where T-Mobile does not own GSM spectrum.

 

  1. Access the mobile hotspot admin page.
  2. Select Disconnect.

  1. Access the mobile hotspot admin page.
  2. Select Disconnect.

    • UMTS Only
    • UMTS and LTE only
    • LTE Only
    • GSM/UMTS/LTE
  9. Select Apply.

Turn on / off data roaming

  1. Access the mobile hotspot admin page.
  2. Select Disconnect.

  8. Under the 'WAN Connection Mode Settings' heading, check or uncheck Check here, to connect to the internet in roaming status to turn data roaming on/off.
  9. Select Apply.
 
Tethering
 
  1. With the device turned off, connect the hotspot device to a PC with the included USB cable.
  2. Turn on the device.

Wi-Fi Settings
 

Scan & Connect

  1. Turn on the mobile hotspot.
  2. On your computer or other Wi-Fi enabled device, search for available Wi-Fi Networks and select the Network Name (SSID) for your Mobile HotSpot.
  3. Enter the network password.

 

Default SSID & Password

 

  1. If the screen on the mobile hotspot is blank, tap any button to wake it up.
  2. Touch the left or right arrow buttons until 'Device Info' is displayed.

  3. Touch the OK button.
  4. Read the SSID and KEY displayed on the screen.
  5. The SSID and Password key displayed on the screen will always be correct, even if they have been changed from the defaults.

Turn on / off

  1. If the screen on the mobile hotspot is blank, touch any button to wake it up.
  2. Touch the left or right arrow buttons until Settings is displayed.

  4. Touch the left arrow to select Wi-Fi On/Off and touch the OK button.

  5. Touch the right arrow so Off is displayed.

  2. Select the SMS tab.

  4. Enter the contact phone number.
  5. Enter the message text.

  1. Determine if devices are eligible to be unlocked: Unlock your mobile wireless device.
  2. Contact Customer Care to request the Mobile Device Unlock code for your phone.
  3. Insert the non-T-Mobile SIM and turn on the device.
  4. See the Admin Page: T-Mobile 4G LTE HotSpot Z915.
  5. On the Home page, select Unlock Device.
  6. Enter the unlock code and choose OK.

  2. Select the Settings tab, then select Device Settings.

Turn on / off SIM PIN

The SIM PIN code can protect your SIM from being used in other devices. When you turn on the SIM PIN lock, the device prompts you to enter the code after turning it on.

Auto-update time (NITZ)

The default setting for your device is to automatically update the time zone. To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps

Master reset with hardware keys

  2. Insert a small object like a pin into the reset hole and hold it for three seconds to reset the device.
