PIN/Passcode details

We use the PIN/Passcode to verify your identity when you contact customer service.

  • Only the Primary Account Holder (PAH) can update the PIN/Passcode in the T-Mobile app or on My T-Mobile.
  • Digital account profiles other than the PAH do not have the ability to modify the PIN/Passcode online.
  • The PIN/Passcode is not the same as the password you use to log in to the T-Mobile app / My T-Mobile. Check out the T-Mobile ID page for more details.

 

Requirements

The PIN/Passcode must have 6-15 non-sequential numbers and cannot be any of the following:

  • Sequential (such as 3456789)
  • Repeating (such as 4444)
  • The beginning or end of the mobile number
  • A mobile number on the account or your Billing Account Number
  • Federal tax ID number, Social Security number, or date of birth

 

Update your PIN/Passcode

 
T-Mobile app
 
  1. Download and log in to the T-Mobile app.
  2. Tap MORE.
  3. Tap Profile settings.
  4. Tap T-Mobile ID.
  5. Select the PIN/Passcode section.
  6. Enter and confirm a new PIN/Passcode
  7. Click Save. You will be sent a text confirming the PIN/Passcode update request.
 
My T-Mobile
 
  1. Log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. In the top right corner, click the My Account drop down.
  3. Select Profile, then click the T-Mobile ID section.
  4. Our systems will attempt to confirm your identity using two-factor authentication methods. Select your preferred method, then click Continue.
  5. In the PIN/Passcode section, click Edit.
  6. Enter the PIN/Passcode. Re-enter to confirm.
  7. Click Save. You will be sent a text confirming the PIN/Passcode update request.
 
Prepaid My T-Mobile
 
  1. Log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. In the top right corner, select My T-Mobile then select My Profile.
  3. Select Profile information.
  4. Scroll to the Change PIN section, click Edit.
  5. Enter a new PIN. Re-enter to confirm. It's not necessary to change the PIN, the entered PIN can be new or the same as the current PIN.
  6. Click Save. You will be sent a text confirming the PIN/Passcode update request.
