Access the Admin page
Note: If this is your first time accessing the Admin page, see First time access below.
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
Note: Alternatively, you can enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. - In the Password field, enter the Admin Page password that you created.
Note: The default administrator password is admin. - Select Log in.
First time access
The first time you access the Mobile Hotspot Admin page, you will be taken through a required set up wizard and given the opportunity to change your Admin password, Wi-Fi network SSID, and W-Fi network password.
- Connect your Wi-Fi enabled computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
Note: Use your default SSID and Wi-Fi password to connect which are located on the white sticker next to the battery. Remove the back panel to see them. - On your computer, double-press the Mobile HotSpot icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your default password 'admin' and then select Log in.
- When the page opens, review the tips and select Next.
- Review the next set of tips and select Next.
- In the text field, enter your new, unique, Admin page password and select Next.
- Enter a new name for your Mobile HotSpot (the SSID) that you’ll use to identify your connection from the list of available networks. When finished, select Next.
Note: In the future, this name can be retrieved from your Mobile Hotspot device. On the device, press the left or right arrow keys to navigate to the Device info screen, press the Enter key, and view the Network Name screen. - If desired, select Change Wi-Fi security password to change your default Wi-Fi password. Otherwise, your Wi-Fi password will remain the default password. When finished, select Finish. Note: In the future, you can retrieve the password using your Mobile Hotspot device. On the device, press the left or right arrow keys to navigate to the Device info screen, press the Enter key, and press the right arrow key until you arrive at the Password screen.
- Now, your Mobile HotSpot will automatically disconnect from your computer to enable you new settings. Reconnect your Wi-Fi enabled computer to your Mobile HotSpot using your new settings. When you have connected, select Refresh Page. Note: If too much time elapses, you may have to log back in to the Admin page using your new Admin password that you just created.
Add additional access point names
Note: It is recommended that you accept default settings and do not change them unless you are an advanced user. If you have problems using your Mobile Hotspot after you change a setting, it is recommended that you reset the device to factory default settings.
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration.
- If necessary, select General.
- Select Add.
- Adjust the following settings (further explanation available in the table below):
- Profile Name
- APN
- Authentication
- None
- PAP
- CHAP
- User Name
- Password
- Select Save. > Save to confirm.
- Select Refresh page. If necessary, re-connect to your Mobile Hotspot to update the settings.
To reconnect, if necessary, 'Forget' your network on your Wi-Fi enabled computer to remove the previous settings associated with your Wi-Fi enabled computer. Next, scan again for available Wi-Fi networks, and then reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot.

Authentication | PAP: Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) provides a simple method, without encryption, for the peer to establish its identity by using a two-way handshake. User Name | The user name is used to obtain authentication from the ISP when the connection is established. |
Password | The password is used to obtain authentication from the ISP when the connection is established. |
Change basic wireless network settings
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration.
- Select Hotspot Settings.
- Adjust the following settings:
- Change password (Admin password)
- Network mode
- Network Name (SSID)
- Broadcast network name (on/off)
- Wi-Fi Security
- Encryption
- Password (Wi-Fi password)
- Channel
- Enable default data limits
- Enable default time limits
- Subnet mask
- Enable DHCP server (on/off)
- DHCP Address Range
- DHCP Lease time (in hours)
- Select Save. If necessary, reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot to update the settings.
Change administrator password
Your administrator password is the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page on your computer. Changing the administrator password does not change the password you use to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. See: Change the Wi-Fi password below to change your Wi-Fi password.
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration.
- Select Hotspot Settings.
- Under ‘Admin Password,’ select Change Password.
- In the Password field, enter your current password.
- In the New field, enter your new password.
- In the Verify field, enter the new password to confirm.
- Select Change > OK.
Note: If you ever forget your administrator password, you can retrieve it using the Mobile Hotspot device with the following steps:
- On your Mobile Hotspot, press the right or left arrows to navigate to the Device Info screen.
- Press the Enter button.
- Press the right arrow button to view the follow screens:
- Network name
- Password
- Admin Password
Change the SSID
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the administrator password that you created and Select Login.
- Select Configuration > Hotspot Settings.
- Select the Network Name (SSID) field and enter the desired SSID.
- Select Save.
Change the Wi-Fi password
The Wi-Fi password is the password used to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. Changing the Wi-Fi password does not change the password you use to access your T-Mobile Hotspot Admin page from your computer. See: Change administrator password above to change your administrator password.
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > Hotspot Settings.
- Under ‘Wi-Fi Security,’ select the Password field and delete the existing password.
- Enter your new Wi-Fi Security Password.
- Select Save > Save to confirm. You will need to reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot using the new settings.
Note: If desired, record Wi-Fi password and keep it in a safe place. However, if you forget your Wi-Fi password, you can retrieve it using the Mobile Hotspot device with the following steps:
- On your Mobile Hotspot, press the right or left arrows to navigate to the Device Info screen.
- Press the Enter.
- Press the right arrow to view the follow screens:
- Network name
- Password
- Admin Password
Change connection mode (Automatic or Manual)
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration.
- Select General.
- To connect manually
- Under Auto Connect, select the Automatically connect to T-Mobile when device is powered on check box to clear the check box and disable auto-connect.
- Under Auto Connect, select the Automatically connect to T-Mobile when device is powered on check box to clear the check box and disable auto-connect.
- To connect automatically
- Under Auto Connect, select the Automatically connect to T-Mobile when device is powered on check box to select the check box and enable auto-connect.
Note: If you choose to connect manually, then you must also disconnect from the internet manually.
- Under Auto Connect, select the Automatically connect to T-Mobile when device is powered on check box to select the check box and enable auto-connect.
- To connect manually
- Select Save > Save to confirm.
- After you are automatically disconnected, reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot to update the settings.
If necessary, to reconnect, ‘Forget’ your network to remove the previous settings on your Wi-Fi enabled computer, scan again for available Wi-Fi networks, and then reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot.
Firewall settings
You can set up firewall rules to protect your network from virus, worm, and malicious activity on the Internet.
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enterhttp://mobile.hotspot/.
- In the Password field, enter the Admin Page password that you created.
- Select Log in > Configuration.
- Select the Firewall settings tab.
Local area network (LAN) status
To view the status of your local area network (LAN) and change advanced Mobile Hotspot settings...
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > Hotspot Settings.
- View the ‘Network Settings’ and change as desired.
- Select Save. If necessary, reconnect to your Mobile Hotspot to update the changes.
MAC, IP, and port filtering settings
This section includes the following procedures:
- Enable / disable MAC / IP / Port Filtering

To enable or disable MAC / IP / Port Filtering...
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > Firewall Settings.
- Select Enable filtering to select or clear the Check box and enable or disable.
- If Enable filtering is enabled, select the Default policy field and then select one of the following options:
- Accepted
- Dropped
- Select Save.
To delete a rule...
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > Firewall Settings.
- Select View [x] rule[s] and select the check box for each rule you want to delete.
- Select Delete > Close > Save.
To add a new rule...
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > Firewall Settings.
- If necessary, select Enable filtering to select the Check box and enable.
- Enter the follow settings as necessary:
- MAC Address
- Destination IP Address
- Source IP Address
- Protocol
- Destination Port Range
- Source Port Range
- Action
- Comment
- When finished, select Add Port Filter Rule.
- If successful, View [x] rule(s) will now increase by one.
- Select Save.
Battery, Memory, & Storage
Insert
- Gently push the back cover down and then remove it.
- Insert the battery by aligning the contacts on the battery with the metal springs in the battery compartment.
- Slide the back cover on and snap it back into place.
Remove
- Gently push the back cover down and then remove it.
- Lift and remove the battery.
- Slide the back cover on and snap it into place.
To insert or remove the SIM card...
- Gently push the back cover down and then remove it.
- Lift and remove the battery.
- Place the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the gold contacts facing down, or slide out the SIM card to remove it.
- Replace the battery while ensuring the gold contacts are aligned.
- Slide the back cover on and snap it into place.



Insert / remove SD card
To insert or remove the SD card...
- Pull the cover of the memory card slot to the side.
- Insert the microSD card into the card slot with the gold contacts facing up until it clicks into place, or to remove, press the microSD card gently inward until you hear a click, and then release. The card will pop out slightly and can be removed.
- Replace the cover over the card slot to close it.

Open / delete files
You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.
- Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
- On your computer, select Open folder to view files > OK.
- You will see another Removable Disk window, select Open folder to view files > OK again. Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
- Locate the folder that contains files you want to delete.
- Once you have located the files, right-press and select Delete.
- When done, disconnect the USB cable.
Transfer files
To transfer files and pictures between the computer and SD card...
Important: You must use the USB cable that comes with your phone.
- Connect the USB cord to the phone, then to a computer.
- On your computer, select Open folder to view files > OK.
- You will see another Removable Disk window, select Open folder to view files > OK again. Note: One folder shows files saved in your phone memory and one folder shows files saved on your SD card.
- Locate the folder that contains files saved on your SD card.
- Locate the file(s) you want to move on your computer.
- Cut or copy and paste the desired file(s) from your computer to your SD card.
- When done, disconnect the USB cable.
Connections & Network
Add APN Broadband Profile
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- From ‘WWAN APN Settings,’ select Add.
- Choose one of the following settings to update it:
- Profile Name: Enter the profile name.
- APN: Enter the APN string
- Authentication
- None

- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the administrator password that you created the first time you accessed the Admin page and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- From under ‘WWAN APN Settings,’ if necessary, select the Profile field and then choose the profile you want to edit.
- Select Edit.
- Edit the desired settings and select Save.
Delete APN Broadband Profile
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-select the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the administrator password that you created the first time you accessed the Admin page and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- From under ‘WWAN APN Settings,’ select the Profile field and then select the profile you want to delete.
- Select Delete > Delete to confirm.
To connect your Wi-Fi enabled device to your Mobile Hotspot...
- If necessary, remove the battery cover for your Mobile Hotspot and write down the default Network Name / SSID and Password printed on the white label located next to the battery.
Note: If the sticker is missing or unreadable, the default SSID is T-Mobile Broadband## (where ## is the last 2 digits of the device IMEI) and the default password is the last 8 digits of the device IMEI.
- Replace the battery cover and then power on your Mobile Hotspot.
- On your computer, open the application you use to connect via Wi-Fi.
- Select the default SSID for your Mobile Hotspot.
Note: If you do not see your SSID, your Mobile Hotspot may have gone into sleep mode. Quickly press thePower key to wake the display. - Enter the default password.
- Select OK.
- Your Mobile Hotspot’s Internet connection is now available to your connected computer.
Note: If your service is not already set up, open a web page on your computer and follow the on-screen prompts to set up your service. Otherwise, open a web page and browse.

Switch 3G / 4G / LTE
- Connect your computer to your Mobile HotSpot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the Admin password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- In ‘Network Radios,’ select one of the following options:
- Best available
- LTE only
- 3G only
- 2G only
Turn on / off data roaming
- Connect your computer to your Mobile HotSpot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile HotSpot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter the Admin password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- In ‘Data Roaming,’ select the box to check or un-check Allow connections when roaming.
PC
To connect your PC computer to your Mobile Hotspot using tethering...
- Power on your Mobile Hotspot.
- Connect the large end of your USB cord to your USB port on your computer.
- Connect the small end of your USB cord to your Mobile Hotspot.
- If you haven't already installed the Webconnect software, complete the Mobile Hotspot Install Wizard by following the next six steps. Otherwise, skip to step 5.
- From the pop-up window, select Next. If the pop-up window fails to appear, select Start > My Computer, then hover over Mobile HotSpot and right-click. Select Open, double-press the Windows folder, and then double-press the autorun.exe icon.
- Select Next> Next > Next > Install.
- Select Finish. When installation has finished, the Admin Shortcut icon will appear on your desktop.
- Tethering is now active. Open your web browser and navigate to the desired web page.
- To end the session, remove the USB cable.
Mac
To connect your Mac computer to your Mobile Hotspot using tethering...
- Charge and turn on your Mobile Hotspot.
- Plug the small end of the USB cable into the bottom of the Mobile Hotspot.
- Plug the large end of the USB cable into a USB port on your Wi-Fi enabled computer.
- If you haven't already installed the Webconnect software, complete the Mobile Hotspot Install Wizard by following the next five steps. Otherwise, skip to step 5.
- From the pop-up window, select Mac. If your computer fails to automatically launch installation of the Mobile Hotspot shortcut:
- From the desktop screen, if necessary, close any pop-up windows to reveal the ‘Go’ menu link.
- Select Go > Computer.
- Double-press Mobile Hotspot.
- Double-press Mac.
- Double-press Mobile Hotspot.mpkg.
- Select Continue.
- If necessary, select Change Install location or Customize to adjust these settings. When finished, select Install
- When the installation finishes, select Close. The Admin shortcut will appear on your desktop when the software has finished installing.
- From the pop-up window, select Mac. If your computer fails to automatically launch installation of the Mobile Hotspot shortcut:
- Tethering is now active. Open your web browser and navigate to the desired web page.
- To end the session, remove the USB cable.
Linux
To connect your Linux computer to your Mobile Hotspot using tethering...
- Charge and turn on your Mobile Hotspot.
- Plug the small end of the USB cable into the bottom of the Mobile Hotspot.
- Plug the large end of the USB cable into a USB port on your Wi-Fi enabled computer.If you haven't already installed the Webconnect software, you must complete the next 3 steps to install.
- Select the CD ROM icon or manually navigate to and open your USB drive.
- Double-press the Install icon.
- Select Run. Tethering is active when the download finishes.
- Open the web browser and navigate to the desired web page.
- To end the session, remove the USB cable.
Email & Messaging
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select SMS > New.
- In the SMS Number field, enter the recipient’s 10-digit phone number.
- In the Text Entry field, enter a message that is up to 140 characters long.
- Press the Enter key to send the text message.
View a text message (SMS)
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select SMS to view the following categories:
- Next to ‘SMS,’ the number of new, unread messages is indicated inside parenthesis.
- Select Messages to view messages from T-Mobile.
- From the ‘Conversations’ section, select the desired Conversation thread.
- View the text message at bottom-right of the Conversation thread. The most recent message is at the bottom of the thread.
Delete text messages (SMS)
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Log in.
- Select SMS.
- Choose one of the following options:
- To delete an entire Conversation thread: Select the trash can icon next to the desired Conversation thread.
- To delete an individual text message:
- Select the desired Conversation thread.
- Hover your cursor over the desired text message.
- Select the X icon.
Security
If you enter a PIN code incorrectly several times in a row, the device blocks you from attempting again. Important: You must contact us for the PUK code. Entering the wrong code can permanently damage your SIM card.
- Contact us to request your PUK code.
- Access the Web Portal
- Select Unlock SIM.
- Enter the PUK code.
- Select OK.
- Enter your new PIN.
- Select OK.
- Re-enter your new PIN.
- Select OK.
Change SIM PIN
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General > Change PIN.
- Enter your current SIM PIN code into the PIN Code field.
- Enter your new SIM PIN code into the New PIN field.
- Enter your new SIM PIN code again into the Verify PIN field.
- Select Change PIN > OK.
Turn on / off SIM PIN
The SIM PIN code can protect your SIM from being used in other devices. When you turn on the SIM PIN lock, the device prompts you to enter the code after turning it on.
To lock and unlock the SIM card...
- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration > General.
- Select Enable PIN Lock to select the check box and enable.
- In the PIN Code field, enter your default SIM PIN code ('1234') and select Enable PIN.
Note: If you enter the incorrect SIM PIN code three times, your SIM Card will become locked and you will need your PUK Code. If this happens, contact Customer Care to obtain your PUK Code. - Read the message and select OK. Or, selectPower Off Now to immediately enable SIM PIN lock.

- Now, your Mobile HotSpot will automatically disconnect from your computer to enable you new settings. Reconnect your Wi-Fi enabled computer to your Mobile HotSpot using your new settings. When you have connected, select Refresh Page. Note: If too much time elapses, you may have to log back in to the Admin page using your new Admin password that you just created.

- Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
- On your computer, double-press the T-Mobile Hotspot Admin icon on your desktop or open a browser window and enter http://mobile.hotspot/.
- Enter your administrator password that you created and select Login.
- Select Configuration.
- Select Reset to factory defaults.
- Select Reset Settings.
- You will be automatically disconnected from your Mobile Hotspot as the default settings are restored. Reconnect using the default SSID and password located on the white sticker next to the battery.
Master reset with hardware keys
A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage. It does not delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.
Resetting your device restores all factory defaults. You may need to reset your device if you cannot connect device(s) to your Wi-Fi HotSpot or can not regain access to the Web portal. If the device is frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys. To perform a master reset...
- Power on your Mobile Hotspot.
- Gently push the back cover down and then remove it.
- Locate the Reset point (in low light, the Reset point can be difficult to locate).
- When ready to perform the reset, if necessary, press and quickly release the Power button to wake up the screen.
- Gently insert a paper clip into the Reset point for the three seconds.
- Watch the activated screen. When it begins to shut down, remove the paper clip.
- Your device will shut down and automatically restart.
- To confirm a successful factory reset, when the device restarts and displays the ‘Device info’ screen, press the Enter key.
- View the Network Name and confirm that it has changed to your default network name. You can check by comparing the name to the Network Name / SSID that appears on the white sticker next to the battery.
