How do I know what T-Mobile rate plan is right for me?

I am an existing customer and would like to refer someone to T-Mobile. Do I get anything if they sign up?

The T-Mobile Refer-a-Friend program allows existing customers to receive a $50 Virtual Express Prepaid MasterCard card for referring friends and family to open new postpaid accounts with T-Mobile.

Do I need to buy a new phone if I am coming over from another carrier?

Nope, if you have an unlocked phone, we can help you use it. We also have programs to help you pay off your phone, if you like.

Can I sign up for T-Mobile service if I don’t have a Social Security number?

T-Mobile has a variety of Prepaid and Postpaid product and service offerings for customers who do not currently have a Social Security number (SSN). You can visit your local T-Mobile store to discuss options with a representative and determine which offering is best for you.

How do I sign up for T-Mobile service?

We make it easy, call us or visit us, you can even do it over the web. Whatever you prefer! If you have a matricula or international student visa, we ask that you come to a store in person.

How do I know if I have an acceptable form of ID to sign up for T-Mobile service?

T-Mobile accepts the following forms of ID—eligible Consular ID card, Matricula Consular ID, U.S. driver’s license, U.S. Passport or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), valid passport with an M, J, or F visa annotation, state ID, U.S. Military ID, or Employment Authorization Document (EAD).

Which countries are included in the acceptable form of ID for Matricula/Consular IDs?

Currently, Consular IDs are accepted from the following countries:

  • Mexico
  • Guatemala
  • Dominican Republic
  •  Honduras
  •  El Salvador
  •  Colombia
  •  Ecuador
  •  Brazil
  • Uruguay
