The T-Mobile Refer-a-Friend program allows new and existing customers to receive a Virtual Express Prepaid Mastercard. Existing customers get a Virtual Express Prepaid Mastercard for referring friends and family to open new postpaid accounts with T-Mobile. Referred customers get a Virtual Express Prepaid Mastercard for accepting the referral, opening a new postpaid account, and porting in a number from an eligible wireless carrier to a new voice line.

Eligibility
Am I eligible to make referrals?
Refer-a-Friend is available for Postpaid customers and T-Mobile for Business customers with 12 voice lines or less. The referring customer and the person they refer can earn a Virtual Prepaid Mastercard when program requirements are met. This program can be combined with all other promotions.
As of 5/8/25, the Refer-a-Friend program transitioned to a new vendor. To ensure a smooth experience for all our customers, please review the steps below based on whether your referral was made through the previous vendor or through our new platform.
Referrals Before 5/8/25
- Payout: Before 5/8/25, the referring customer and the person they referred were eligible for a $50 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard.
- Referring customer sent the referral before 5/8/25: Check the status of a referral you made before 5/8/25, by visiting referrals.t-mobile.com . This site will remain active until 6/30/25.
- The referred customer received a referral before 5/8/25: If you were referred before 5/8/25, use the unique URL you were sent to redeem your reward by 5/15/25. Referral must be redeemed by 5/15/25 to avoid delay or potential forfeiture of reward.
Referrals 5/8/25 & After
- Payout: Starting 5/8/25 and for a limited time, the referring customer and the person they refer will be eligible for a $100 Virtual Prepaid Mastercard.
- Referring customer sent the referral 5/8/25 and after: Check the status of a referral you made 5/8/25 and after, by visiting referral.t-mobile.com .
- The referred customer received a referral 5/8/25 and after: If you were referred 5/8/25 or after, use the unique URL you were sent to redeem your reward.
- For Customers Referring Others:
- Sign up for the Refer-a-Friend program at referral.t-mobile.com using your T-Mobile ID.
- Stay in good standing to qualify for rewards.
- Earn a Virtual Prepaid Mastercard for each successful referral (one per new account).
- You can receive up to $500 in referral rewards per calendar year.
- For Friends and Family Being Referred:
- Accept the referral and register before activating a new account. (Only new accounts qualify.)
- Within 14 days, port-in a number from an eligible carrier and activate a new postpaid T-Mobile account with at least one voice line.
- Pay your first bill and remain in good standing to receive your reward.
- Only one referral reward per account (BAN) is allowed.
- You’ll receive a Virtual Prepaid Mastercard once qualified.
- You can also refer others later and receive up to $500 in referral rewards per calendar year.
The Refer-a-Friend program isn't available to
- New lines added to existing accounts (AAL)
- T-Mobile Accounts / lines canceled within the past 90 days
- Prepaid accounts
- Mobile Internet or Home Internet only accounts
- Government account types
- T-Mobile for Business with 13+ lines
- Special / T-Mobile employees and Special / Non TMO Employee
- No Credit Check accounts
- Port-ins from prepaid carriers, T-Mobile Prepaid, Metro by T-Mobile, MVNOs using T-Mobile’s network, or numbers used with T-Mobile service in the last 90 days.
Who can I refer and what do they need to do?
You can refer anyone who hasn't had T-Mobile service within the previous 90 days, and your friend and family must accept your referral before activating with T-Mobile to qualify.
To qualify as a referral, your friends and family must:
- Accept your referral within 14 days by following your unique referral link to a website and completing the referral form.
- Activate a new postpaid account with at least 1 voice line and port-in a number from another postpaid carrier within 45 days of accepting your referral. The number ported in must be the same one provided with the referral form.
- Maintain service in good standing (active and current) for 30 days after account activation.
Sounds good. How many people can I refer?
We'll reward you for referrals, up to $500 per calendar year, but you are welcome to refer as many friends and family as you wish. You receive one Virtual Express Prepaid Mastercard card per qualifying new account you refer.
Existing Customer - Join Referral Program & Refer a New Customer
Sign up for Refer-a-friend & Send Referral
- Go to referral.t-mobile.com
- Select Get Started.
- Log in using your T-Mobile ID.
- Once logged in, you will be taken to the Refer-a-Friend Dashboard.
- Check your email account for confirmation email that you’ve joined the T-Mobile Refer-a-Friend program.
- Select Activate Link for Refer-a-Friend Program.
- Select Continue on Terms & Conditions.
- Share your Referral URL with friends and family.
Check referral status
- After accepting your referral, you'll receive emails letting you know when your reward is on the way. Referral rewards are received within 30 days.
- Go to referral.t-mobile.com.
- Select Get Started.
- Log in with your T-Mobile ID.
- From the Refer-a-Friend Dashboard, you can see your referral status:
- Successful: Referee has opened a new account, the referral has been validated, and referrer has been sentVirtual Prepaid Mastercard.
- Pending: Referee has opened a new account, and we're in the process of validating the referral.
- Unsuccessful: Referee cancelled, is unable to complete the order, or the order does not meet the criteria set in our Terms and Conditions.
Claim your reward
Once your reward has been processed, you can claim it via SMS or through the Refer-a-Friend Dashboard.
- For the referrer: You’ll receive a Virtual Prepaid Mastercard within 1-2 business days after your friend pays their first bill and keeps their service active for 30 days.
- For the referred friend: They’ll get their reward once they pay their first bill, stay in good standing, and keep service active for at least 30 days.
- Referrals expire after 45 days if not completed or confirmed.
SMS
- From the reward SMS, tap the link.
- Enter your mobile number and zip code or the tracking number from the submission.
- Select Redeem. The reward code should automatically generate.
If not, go back to the previous page and select Redeem again.
Refer-a-Friend Dashboard
- Go to referral.t-mobile.com.
- Select Get Started.
- Log in with your T-Mobile ID.
- Select Check Status.
- From the Refer-a-Friend Dashboard, highlight the referral and tap View.
- Tap Activate Link. The reward code automatically generates.
