Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM is a postpaid plan that offers voice and 5G data connectivity in your BMW Group vehicle equipped with personal eSIM capability. With access to T-Mobile’s powerful nationwide 5G network, passengers in your vehicle can work, play and stream from the road. - ### I have a current T-Mobile plan and want to add the Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan. Can I do that? Yes, you can. As a current T-Mobile postpaid customer, you can add a line if you are the primary account holder and have not maximized the number of lines on your account. Simply log into your vehicle’s app to get started. If you are a T-Mobile business customer, please contact your account administrator to get started - ### What comes with my Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan? Your plan gives you unlimited voice, data and Wi-Fi hotspot in the U.S. including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. You also get 5GB of 4G LTE data per month in Canada and Mexico. Even if you manage to use up your 4G LTE data, you automatically stay connected with unlimited data at speeds up to 128kbps. Additionally, follow-me connectivity allows you to connect to your voice, data, and Wi-Fi hotspot in any capable BMW or Rolls Royce vehicle – even rentals and car shares. Just log in and manage your profile in your vehicle mobile app. - ### How do I sign up for the Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan? Simply download your vehicle’s mobile app, login, navigate to 3rd Partry Services, select Personal eSIM, then follow the prompts to sign up. You can also refer to the vehicle’s Get Started Guide for additional information. If you are a T-Mobile business customer, please contact your account administrator to get started - ### What is a Personal eSIM? An eSIM, or ‘embedded SIM” is essentially a SIM card embedded in a mobile device – cell phone, tablet, smartwatch – that allows connectivity to a cellular network without a physical, removable SIM card. The personal eSIM in the vehicle makes it possible to add your vehicle to your existing mobile phone plan, thus taking advantage of the vehicle’s 5G antenna and enabling an in-car WiFi hotspot. As many as ten devices can be connected to the vehicle’s WiFi hotspot simultaneously, providing users with high-speed internet access for mobile office work or video streaming in full HD quality. - ### I don’t currently have a T-Mobile account, but I bought a Personal eSIM-equipped BMW or Rolls Royce. Can I open an account? If you already have a voice line with T-Mobile, you can add the Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan. Or you can open a new voice line with T-Mobile and sign up for the Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan. - ### What models is Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM available in? Currently, it is available for BMW Group models equipped with a Personal eSIM. Please consult your vehicle owner’s manual to confirm that your vehicle is suitably equipped. - ### I’ve signed up for the Magenta Drive for Personal eSIM plan, how do I complete the setup? Using your vehicle ID (e.g., BMW ID) just log into your vehicle and it will automatically download settings and complete the configuration For “Personal Hotspot” follow the instructions in your vehicle’s Get Started Guide to complete its configuration.
