I had the same problem. Casting to TV would freeze. My workaround - plugged in the router I used previously with Xfinity into the T-Mobile gateway, and connected both, Chromecast and laptop to the same router. I have to do the same with my work laptop. It won’t connect to the gateway wifi. I need to connect to the router instead.
