GlobalProtect VPN not working with T-Mobile 5G Home Gateway

I just recewived a new 5G Gateway (Model: TMO-G4SE) a couple of days ago. However, looks like it didn't support GlobalProtect VPN (app version: 6.27-1047). Did anyone have the issue and find any solutions?

I need that VPN to work remotely. If the issue couldn't be resolved, it would be a deal breaker for sure.

I would like to know if anyone is still having troubles after changing their setup to use 1300? I'm starting to see some issues arise with our users that have TM for their ISP and we've been good for over a year now using the MTU of 1300. Haven't been able to identify this new issue other than its TM.

I found that a few resourses (such as database, elasticSearch) were still accesible while most of others were not. I checked with my IT department and looks like they need to do something to support the internet service. So, I still have to use a cable internet service.

I'm having the exact same problem. Just set up my 5G Gateway yesterday and I can't get to any of my work websites now.  I may have to stick with AT&T if this can't be resolved.

  • Every solution I've found has been short lived. Everything was working great with the acception of having to use a Nighthawk router in order to connect to my works VPN until about a week ago.

First solution- factory reset my getaway and Nighthawk. Worked for about a day. Wasn't worth it after having to reconnect all my smart devices

Second solution- after about 3 days of not being able to get on the VPN, I finally got an error message that said my gateway needs a better signal. Moved it closer to a window and farther away from interfering devices. That worked for about 2 days.

Third solution- Delete and re-add the VPN. Which worked for about 3 days.

I'm not sure if it's a firewall thing or a recent update. But if I or they can't disable the firewall or reverse the update causing this issue, then it looks like I'll be going with Verizon since they've been the only provider so far that I haven't had any connectivity issues with whatsoever and didn't even need to use my Nighthawk with. Spectrum fiber had a similarly difficult issues from the very start which is how I ended up getting a Nighthawk router in the first place.

As of Monday morning when logging on for work I noticed issues with timing out when attempting to access certain sites, yet able to ping the sites without issue. IT is telling me the same thing. Used my Phone to Hotspot for now and that is working, so definitely appears something TMobile did has definitely made my ability to WFH limited and that being the case TMobile internet has about 48 hours to get this resolved before they are terminated and I'm having to find a new provider.

Bingo.  When it works with other carriers/devices and not T-Mobile's HI ... then its T-Mobile's HI service that is the issue.  It was for this reason that I kept Spectrum as long as I did.  I had to cancel T-Mobile HI when zoom/vpn all drop or become so filtered that they're unusable.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a fix.  I'm getting cable Internet installed today.  It stinks but, it is what it is.  Good luck.

Did you ever find a fix?  I had the same issue last year and it somehow got resloved.  Today, I upgraded to the white Gateway and the problem has reappeared.  Both times my IT says...its a Tmobile thing, good luck.

Sadly, the fix (after 5 months and +5 gateways) was to switch back to cable, and drop T-Mobile Home Internet.  This gateway service is basically a highspeed WiFi for email/youtube/Netflix and not much else.
