WPA 2/WPA3 Mixed mode possible on G4AR?
Hi sll,
I have sn older tablet, and I need to have WPA2 security on my wifi metwork. Is there a mixed mode option for the G4AR gateway? If so, how do I set it.
Thanks,
Paul
Yes there is mixed modes available. The default setting should already be in mixed mode.
It should be WPA2/WPA3 with AES encryption. Perhaps it's the AES encryption that is the problem for you.
There is WPA/WPA2 available with TKIP/AES encryption and WPA with AES encryption.
From Home screen select Internet then My WiFi. In the lower part of the screen is your networks.
You can have multiple WiFi networks, I suggest you make one specifically for your tablet using WPA/WPA2. I have 3.
Then there's the question of can your tablet receive both 2.4 and 5 gHz signals. That can be set to one or the other or both.

Hi Dwcraig1,
It looks so easy to do..and quickly revert back if there isnt any benefit or file sharing. I am also looking into trying splitting the various devices ( like smart plugs) that go me a little scared will bog down the router…like thdy jave in the past….into the two networks (hobby and household) and see if that helps!
Thanks,
Paul

So I checked using my one desktop connected to the 2.4 ghz wifi and my other wired desktop and I was able to share files between them.

Even though various networks are set up as long as they are on the same router (gateway) I suspect you can share files between the gateway's networks.

Thanks Decraig1,
I did find that setting and in the regular t life app! I put all devices down one step to wpa2 so the tablet could hookup..and it did! Actually the dual network is making more sense to me after reading your post, because my number one goal is to share files between my hobby pcs and I dont need all the secure info on our our household pc on anything other than on a wpa3 secure network. I can simply switch between the wpa3 and wpa2 network only during those times when I need my to use the household pc to share files with the hobby pcs.
Thanks,
Paul
