I have a Pixel XL that was originally Project Fi. I switched to TMobile two weeks ago and my group MMS are not downloading, either on wifi or mobile. Sometimes they come through, other times I have to go to the individual messages and download them. 90% of the time, they fail to download. I've done all the troubleshooting, including resetting the network and creating the new APN from this forum. My husband has the same phone and same network and is not having this issue. The message app also crashes after a few tries at downloading. Google support was not helpful, telling me I can't use wifi for MMS, which is incorrect because I've always used wifi. Plus, it's also happening on data. Below is the APN I have done according to TMobile support doc. Although, my phone does not have a "MMS protocol" option. This helped my phone to be able to receive them more frequently, although, I still have to download them. Android APN settings Open the Access Point Names or APNs menu. In Settings, look under Wireless & Networks or tap the Connections tab. Touch Mobile network. You may need to touch More settings, More..., or More networks first. Touch Access Point Names. Touch the T-Mobile APN if one is available. If not, press the Menu key and touch new APN. Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN. Name: T-Mobile APN: Fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices) or epc.tmobile.com (for non-LTE devices) Proxy: <Not set> Port: <Not set> Username: <Not set> Password: <Not set> Server: <Not set> MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc MMS proxy: <Not set> MMS port: <Not set> MMS protocol: WAP 2.0 MCC: 310 MNC: 260 Authentication Type: <Not set> APN Type: default,supl,mms OR Internet+MMS Default Android provides a text field to enter: default,supl,mms. My big gray cylinder 5G Home internet has good signal and works reliably. But some percent of websites I visit simply refuse to load via the TMo 5g device, yet they work fine if I use my Verizon cellphone data, or a coaxial cable modem (which I have not canceled service on yet). I am guessing it’s either a DNS issue between my Mac and the T-Mobile cylinder (eg: settings requiring technical help or updates), or a problem in the T-Mo network that is blocking some sites. After spending too many hours on the phone already with Tmo tech support for 5G Home, I am not excited about the prospect of engaging on the phone again. It takes too long, and the agents need more training and support. Has anyone experienced and solved this issue? Do you have technical insights? Is there actual written documentation somewhere that I could access? Thank you. iPhone 12 Pro Max on T-Mobile Essential NCC family plan. After updating to iOS 14.5, cellular data won’t work. It doesn’t matter if it’s connected to 5G or LTE, or at whichever signal strength. It doesn’t have internet access. I can only make phone calls and text. I have tried network reset, factory reset, and reinsert sim. I even went to the Apple store to have my phone replacement eventually. However, the issue persists on the new phone as well once after it was updated to iOS 14.5. Only solution for now: is downgrade to iOS 14.4.2 or earlier. (As of may 3 Apple has stopped signing iOS 14.4.2 or earlier) Also, other people in my family plan with iPhone 12 models updated to iOS 14.5 have the same cellular data issue. There are several people on Reddit reporting the same issue as well. All currently on essential plan. Reddit post Hopefully T-Mobile and Apple is working on a fix!? Ps. My plan includes unlimited data (and messaging) out of the country. I called T-Mobile to ask a couple of questions about using the phone while out of the country, and the Tech Support agent told me not to make WhatsApp (or Facetime) calls because they count as calls and are charged at the rate of $0.25/min. I argues that WhatsApp calls consume data, not voice minutes, but he still said I will be charged if I make WhatsApp calls if not connected to wifi. I only get 2 bars of service, and 2 bars is the highest it’ll go. I paid for another month not too long ago, and it still doesn’t go past 2. I’ve tried everything from restarting to re-inserting the sim card again. I really don’t want to think I paid $50 just for 1-2 bars. I recently got T-Mobile Home Internet and I love it. However, I’d like to see how much data each device (or at least all devices) are using on the device. How can I check this out? The phone app does not show me this information, and when I log into the console via the admin IP, it doesn’t show me this information either. How can I find out data usage? I have a attached a cropped out image (I’m hiding the serial number) of basically all that I see in the console. There is no data usage information. Hello. I apologize if this question has already been asked and answered--I just couldn’t find a satisfactory answer through a quick search or when calling T-Mobile customer service. I just signed up for a $10 Connect prepaid plan with 1GB of data. On the usage details (under data), I see both categories called “whitelisted” and “data” under category for the service of internet access (a copy of the usage detail is attached). Can anyone give me an easy to understand explanation of why there is two categories of “whitelisted” and “data,” both of which really reduces the overall data anyway? One site (https://techshift.net/what-is-t-mobile-whitelist-and-regular-usage/) seems to indicate that “whitelisted” “doesn’t count towards a plan’s data bucket.” I’m not sure what that really means or if it is even accurate since there aren’t many similar explanations that I could find.
