Re: My 5G HI gets slow, then speeds up after reset
I'd recommend to 'start' with a replacement, however, I'm doubtful that this will permanently fix the issue. I've had similar issues when using VPN (worse, actually) and items such as Zoom. Typical speed was +800Mbps hitting upto 1Gbps. Using VPN drops down to < 6Mbps. When I switched over to Spectrum (kept in parallel for testing). I had a 100/10 connection, speed test gave 100Mbps w/o VPN, and 100Mbps with VPN. Replacement gateways worked 'for a while' until patch level caught up to current. These all started after October 2024 when T-Mobile started pushing firmware updates. I had to cancel TMHI service after +5 gateway exchanges.10Views0likes0CommentsRe: Price increase
All phone calls are recorded - by them, you won't have access to them. I recommend stating at the start that you are ALSO recording the call. The tone will change. Write to the BBB. You will have a higher level than manager/supervisor at T-Mobile. Decide if you want to cancel and go somewhere else.798Views0likes0CommentsRe: GlobalProtect VPN not working with T-Mobile 5G Home Gateway
Bingo. When it works with other carriers/devices and not T-Mobile's HI ... then its T-Mobile's HI service that is the issue. It was for this reason that I kept Spectrum as long as I did. I had to cancel T-Mobile HI when zoom/vpn all drop or become so filtered that they're unusable.93Views0likes0CommentsRe: Internet out since 10am NRaleigh
For T-Mobile, "After" you contact them, and they file a trouble ticket, they can (will) take upto 72 hours to fix. I had similar issues one day a few months ago, and service was down for 1/2 day on a Friday. They claimed the issue was resolved, only to have it reoccur on the following Monday. It took another week and escalations to find out what was going on. They blamed everything from 'power outage in the area' (BS), to upgrades to fiber cut. In the end after contacting 'Business support', I found out that T-Mobile had equipment failure, and the replacement was also bad.87Views0likes0Comments
