Hello, I am looking for some current information about using my T-Mo Nokia 5G21 Gateway device with an unlimited internet account to stream Hulu+ Live TV. I have read about the need for a Home network, and since that device is not going to be used anywhere but in my home, I am concerned about the possible changing IP address that may make it look like the device is in a different place than my home. I know that it says that the location is used to provide the local TV channels - networks that I can get on my antenna, so I am not too concerned that the device may connect to a different part of the state and have a different set of local channels. What I am concerned about is that if the IP address changes, will the device still work? I wondered if anyone here had any experience recently with this type of device and one of the live TV streaming services? Or is there a range of area - say IP addresses that are perhaps 100 or 200 miles from where I am that might still be considered “Local”? Or, as long as I am using my Roku in my living room, will it not be an issue? Thanks so much for any help!398Views0likes5CommentsHelp with setting location
I have had a T-Mobile Gateway for almost a year now, and it shows my location as Charlotte, NC, and I am actually in a town four hours away from Charlotte. Is there any way I can access my present location on this device? Especially seeing there are towers practically across the street from me. It is very frustrating when I want to look up something local and all I get is Charlotte information.276Views0likes4CommentsIP Location issue
So apparently I cannot connect to sites that need to verify your location because my new tmobile internet service shows me as being located in a State that is different from my actual location. Been on hold for 50 mins to speak to someone, not sure if I will get anyone tonight and this is not looking good for customer service support that you don’t have a different number specifically for tech issues like this.32KViews12likes49CommentsADS on my Modem, & other issues
In addition to all of my other problems that have me constantly rebooting my gateway, I am seeing ads come up trying to sell me insurance, etc. Sometimes even using another person name, as if they had this gateway! Then it says, type END to unsubscribe. How exactly you do this on a modem?!! Service dropping, and rapid fire IP address changes have cost me hours every day for weeks. Have to call HULU 5 to 10 x a day now to reset my zip code to an IP address, then it changes 30 minutes later, and back on the phone I go. Internet has been out 5 mornings out 7 this week. Drops out a minimum of 4 x a day. Does TM even care to attempt to sustain this service? Or just blame Hulu, and every other tv provider, etc. This is a TM architecture problem. Network was clearly NOT ready to handle the customer load. I have heard the same excuses over and over again regarding poor internet connectivity. The ENGINEERS accidentally moved me to a new tower. They just “cleared the backlog”. Goes out again the next day. Over all of it, really. Going to look elsewhere for decent service.177Views0likes2CommentsFamily Where Help
My Family Where app is ridiculously inconsistent. But for the last several months when it is tracking my daughter it shows a big circle of the general area that she is in (sometimes it is way off). How can I improve the location accuracy. I don't have this issue when tracking my son. Also, why does it work sometimes and then a half hour later it doesn't track and says there is a connection issue when there definitely isn't. Is it legal to charge me $9.95 every month for a safety feature that doesn't always work and doesn't track correctly?396Views0likes6CommentsOutage in Charlotte, NC 28204?
My Wi-fi is working but neither my iPad nor iPhone will pick up/connect to it and clearly data isn’t working because I cant access any (no Google, YouTube, Spotify, Bank, Apple Store etc.) Is there a tower down or something? I also call TMobile customer service and keep getting cut off or told to call back later.254Views0likes1CommentHome wifi gateway positioning
I'm in my first day of having T-Mobile home internet. I am needing advice on the best placement for my gateway router. Right now I have it on a table next to a window away from other electronics but it's only getting 2 bars of signal. Help. Advice. Thanks!511Views0likes1Comment
