Trouble connecting my Android tablet to my T-Mo home internet
Hello, I just got a new Android tablet and it won't connect to my Nokia home internet Gateway. It says there is an authentication error. All of my other devices connect with no problems - any ideas on what the cause of this is and how to fix it are appreciated! Thanks!74Views0likes1CommentNokia5g21 Gateway keeps losing signal
I have a Nokia5G21 internet gateway that has been working fine for the past several months. Very occasionally I've had to turn it off and back on to reset the signal, but generally it is fine. This past weekend - Feb 22-23 - it was slow and late in the day both days it completely lost the signal and even restarting several times didn't fix the issue. Could this be the result of a tower overload - too many people online later in the afternoon and evening causing this problem? I also had a problem even accessing the TMo website - very slow/not loading, so maybe an issue with their transmission? It all is fine this morning - speed tests show download about 82, upload about 7.4. Not the greatest - but typical for what we usually get. Has there been any outage situation in upstate NY in the last few days that anyone has noticed. I know TMo bounces between towers and my IP address changes often, so maybe this was part of the issue - overloaded towers and trying to find one that might be better? And ideas on why this happens or what else to try will be welcome and appreciated.117Views1like0CommentsRe: NOK 5G21 Gateway Battery Backup
A few more questions that hopefully might get answered?? What is the power connector for the Nokia5G21 gateway - is it 5.5*2.5 or 5.5*2.1mm? Also - has anyone had any issues turning off the gateway to hook up a UPS unit and then turning it back on - does it "keep" all of its current configurations and log-ins like the computers, phone, Roku devices, printer, etc? And will the 5G signal continue to work when using one like the Shanqiu unit mentioned in this discussion. Thanks for any replies.125Views0likes0CommentsRe: Proper way to turn off Nokia5G21 Gateway and then turn it back on
Well, found this in the online manual: Press the Power button for one second (Off), wait one second, and then press the Power button again (On). The gateway reboots and keeps existing configuration parameters. Guess that's about the best answer I can find. 😏69Views0likes0CommentsProper way to turn off Nokia5G21 Gateway and then turn it back on
Hello, I am going to need to turn my Nokia5G21 internet gateway off to plug it into a UPS and turn it back on. Is there a proper way to do this? I haven't turned it off since I first set it up and want to be sure that it will come back on with same access to my laptops, my printer and phones that I have now. I want to have the UPS to prevent loss of internet in a power outage. Thanks!143Views0likes1CommentNokia 5G21 Gateway Power Cord Connection
Hello, Does anyone know which DC connection the Nokia 5G21 Gateway has? I am looking at a battery backup for that device to keep it powered in a power outages, and am told that the Gateway needs to have a standard 5.5*2.5mm or 5.5*2.1mm DC port for the battery UPS I am looking at to work. Is that what the Nokia 5G21 gateway has? Thanks!71Views0likes0CommentsBattery backup for Nokia 5G21 Gateway
Hello, I am trying to figure out a battery backup for my Nokia 5G21 Internet Gateway. I have read several discussions here and am confused about which might be the best to get and how to correctly hook it up. I am looking for one that will power my Gateway for several hours - not just a few minutes - but I am not sure how to judge the runtime based on the "size" of the backup. I also want to be sure that my internet connection works when on the backup power- that's the whole point. I was told by CyberPower that the waveform is important and they say using a simulated sinewave might not allow for the internet to run smoothly. Another question would be how to plug in the gateway. One discussion talked of using the 12VDC connector to power the gateway rather than just plugging the gateway into one of the surge plugs. Does that make more sense and would that allow for a longer run time? Thanks for any help anyone might offer - since the gateway is my sole internet connection, I want to be able to use it during a power outage and want it to run for a length of time.80Views0likes0CommentsCan Hotspot plans be changed?
Hello, I have a MiFi hotspot with a TMo 100GB/month plan. I am thinking I would like to change that plan to one of the newer TMo hotspot plans - probably the 5GB/$20 month plan using the same device that I have - already paid for that I bought through TMo. Is that possible - can the type of plan and the cost be easily changed for a hotspot? I don’t need a new one and don’t want to just cancel what I have since I have other devices on the same account and don’t want to lose access to the account. Who would I need to talk to about this - any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks!130Views0likes0CommentsRe: T-Mo Nokia 5G21 Internet Gateway for Hulu or YouTube LIve TV Home Network
RedneckRandy wrote: But - why does TMo need to change the IP address from time to time? You and me both. We get HULU for free through T Mobule and can’t even use it. You think T Mobile would know that before offering the service. Really a bone headed screw up in my book. Indeed!! I have been checking the IP address for my TMo connection on my laptop, and so far 🤞 it has been the same each time. It is also the same IP I can see in my Paramount+ settings on my Roku, so I wonder if it may be more stable than some of the IP addresses? Or is it a different one that I can’t see, I wonder. I had chatted with Hulu and they said to just call them if it happens, and they’ll fix it - but that could get to be a really annoying thing in the middle of a football game LOL! In any case - we may give it a try and see if it works, or look into some other services that don’t rely on that IP address for local programming, which we really aren’t that concerned about since we do have an antenna. Thanks for the replies. I’ll post back if there are any other developments of interest!93Views0likes0Comments
