Incorrect Location

  1. When I am connected to my WIFI and I am using a site that shows my zipcode, it is never correct. Is this something that needs to be corrected? If so how do I do this? Also, I am thinking about getting a streaming service such as HULU< YOUTUBETV FUBO etc, if I do this do I use the zip code that it automatically puts in, or should I change it to the correct zip code? So many questions about this and not sure if I should continue to ignore it and correct it or just leave it alone.
  • From what I've read is you will need a VPN since wireless internet doesn't have a fixed IP address.

I live in the Phoenix area and Google search sees me in the Tustin, CA on my phones internet.

  • The address you see is the location T Mobile aggregates their signal and connects to the internet.  It can even move around.  YouTubeTV can deal with this, as it lets you manually select a location.  Other services like Hulu TV have a problem with it….for those you will need a VPN that allows you to set an address.

Instead of continuing to blame this on applications that are NOT ever going to go back to not want/requiring your location why don't you update the tower software/firmware to allow users to input the physical location of the tower.  This could then be passed to the applications.

After searching I discovered that to get a VPN you have to pay a monthly or yearly charge, download it, configure it for what you want to use it for, and include a local address that it would use. This may fix the issue, but this is NOT what I was looking for. T-Mobile should fix this issue on their end. They are the only service provider that I've had this location issue. The service should use the customer zip code as it location instead of an IP address scheme.
