home internet service gateway

I’m just starting out on T-Mobile home internet but didn’t want to stop using my Asus Router which is set up nicely already to handle everything in this household (both wifi and ethernet). Here’s what I did to avoid any problems. I hooked my Router’s WAN port (which use to go to my cable modem) to one of the two ethernet ports on the back of the T-Mobile Gateway. To avoid double NAT and other problems, I went to Administration on my Asus RT-AX82U and changed it from Wireless Router to Access Point. I made sure to download the Device Discovery Utility linked under Access Point before saving the change so I could get the Router IP address to log into it after the Router reboots. Then just type the new IP into the browser to continue managing the Router. I hope this helps anyone that simply wants to keep using their Router and it’s setup with the T-Mobile Gateway. I can’t totally disable the wifi in the T-Mobile Gateway (mine is the Sagemcom), but I switched it to 5Ghz only in the Tmobile app to cut down on any interference (which hasn’t been a problem anyway) and still only use the WiFi from my Asus Router.6.9KViews7likes14Comments5G Gateway does not have admin features for Business accounts
I have a business internet gateway and I cannot make any changes on my device. Here is the reason, this dmb 5G Gateway now requires the app to make changes but if I try to use the app, I will receive a message saying I have a business account and I need to log in to the HUB, I log in to the HUB, there are no options to manage the gateway. I click on support, it shows only my reps, my reps are clueless on how to resolve this. Can someone look into this? It is crazy what you do to businesses...I have been already trying the ATT gateway, and I will be replacing them all… I am talking about 15 gateways.584Views1like4Commentsunable to disconnect or schedule devices through tmobile 5G home router
Hi! I'm trying to disconnect or schedule devices through tmobile 5G home app but no luck. It gives a pop-up window 'unable to update device at this time ". I installed/uninstalled app, used other devices connected to the same router but no luck. Thank you683Views0likes6CommentsG4SE Admin login
Why can I not login to the G4SE gatway with the username (admin) and password listed on the device? All I get is an info page that showes the status. I would like to change the wifi name and password. I was also under the impression I could manage the gateway with the TMobile app. It just shows the status also and does not allow for any management options. Am I missing something?Solved1.6KViews2likes5CommentsFull configuration of DHCP and other network services
Is there a way to get into a configuration screen for the KVD21 5G Gateway? Ideally, I'd like to connect my gateway to an existing TP-Link router to supply wireless and DHCP. I can work around the wireless by giving the KVD21 5G Gateway a separate SSID than the router, but I don't see any way to get into DHCP and configure or disable it on the gateway. I understand that T-Mobile is looking for simplicity of use for the overwhelming number of users, and I certainly think that’s commendable. Nonetheless, for those of us who understand the basics of networking, access to advanced features would be a major improvement.Solved6.4KViews0likes18CommentsIncorrect Location
When I am connected to my WIFI and I am using a site that shows my zipcode, it is never correct. Is this something that needs to be corrected? If so how do I do this? Also, I am thinking about getting a streaming service such as HULU< YOUTUBETV FUBO etc, if I do this do I use the zip code that it automatically puts in, or should I change it to the correct zip code? So many questions about this and not sure if I should continue to ignore it and correct it or just leave it alone.Solved756Views0likes5CommentsI wish the T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway was JUST a modem!!!
I just left Breezeline due to horrible service for over a month, and when it went out from home, my T-Mobile iPhone became my hotspot. After realizing it was more reliable than my landline Internet, I tried the T-Mobile Home Internet. I was shocked to get 700 down and 60 up, consistently, so after two weeks of successful stress testing I dropped Breezeline. With that said, here are my two main frustrations: I have a UniFi network with several APs in my home all connected to a UniFi switch and UniFi router… I am sure you can see where I’m going with this… 1) I do not need the Sagemcom Fast 5688W router OR 2) its WiFi. You cannot disable WiFi on the unit, or put it into bridge mode to bypass the router. I have tried getting into the device with no luck. So now, I have a double NAT situation and the T-Mobile gateway is emitting frequencies that are going unused. This is a huge oversight on T-Mobile’s end. T-Mobile, if you read these, I know a few people using your home internet, and they’re all complaining of the same thing - Forums are also littered with this feedback as well - Please listen. Allow 1) Turning the WiFi radios off, and 2) bypass the gateway’s routing using a bridge mode (I think that will work). This is very disappointing that it’s so locked down, but with that said, I am happy with the reliability. I just would love to see some additional functionality added as I’m sure I’m not the only person using my own router or mesh system with their gateway. If anyone has any suggestions would love to hear. Thanks!11KViews6likes18Comments
