cheap 3rd party modems to replace 5g gateway
My gateway has always gotten ok signal but for the past month it has been dropping everything. No internet constantly. It drops then gets picked back up. Its annoying having to reset it every time so I was wondering if any cheap 3rd larty modems can replace it? And if not if anything could improve the noise and signal strength?
Do you know if the gateway is losing the 5G connection to the tower, or is the Wi-Fi cutting out? If it’s the Wi-Fi, you can connect an inexpensive router to the gateway with an Ethernet cable. (Perhaps your old router.) If the problem is the connection to the tower, you can try moving it around in your home. The next option is to call T-Mobile and ask for a replacement.
Third-party gateways do exist, but they are not inexpensive. Nater Tater on YouTube has reviewed several.
