internet speeds dropped dramatically northwest florida
I have had this internet for 2 years now and have had absolutely no issues with it. The speeds have been upwards of 300mb/s and that's with only a 2 bar connection. The last week or so now my speeds have randomly dropped down to 100kb/s consistently and it's literally unusable. I noticed that there are a ton of other users saying the same thing. Does TMobile even pay attention to their customers complaints bc I am literally looking for other providers in this area bc of the lack of response and help these reps are able to provide. I don't get how I now have 3 bars but have unusable speeds when over the last 2 years my speeds have been so good I haven't even thought about changing providers even when offered better deals. This has to be fixed or they are going to lose all their home internet users.

Okay so Im happy to report after 3 months of unusable service the problem has been apparently corrected on their sides. I now am back up to usable speeds. My speeds went from anywhere from 200 kilobytes/second to 15 mbs to anywhere from 90 to 250 mbs so I'm back to being happy. The only thing with TMobile and me being weary of it now is the fact that it can go down like that for such a long period of time with no explanation at all.
Same thing happened to me recently, but only for a couple of days.
Apparently 5G was out in my area, and these T-Mobile Home Internet gateways work horribly on just 4G only. Speeds topped at 1mbs, only usable to barely load web pages, not any streaming.
Looking for a backup system now. Probably a tablet plan with 40GB high speed hotspot.

The only thing with TMobile and me being weary of it now is the fact that it can go down like that for such a long period of time with no explanation at all. I own a business and literally had to get another router just to have enough for me and one other person to use Google and that cost me an additional 100 dollars that month and even then it was barely usable. Bc along with my first line, my second like was barely getting 2 mbs. Idk I would say if you have a choice of any other internet maybe hard wired, check into that first. If you are in a rural area and this is your only option as this was at the time I got it, then I guess you'll just have to use a different carriers hotspot to supplement when your speeds are randomly ripped from existence. My area is in the process of using a grant to get fiber installed and Verizon is offering home internet so if this little hiccup happens again Im going to be forced to leave the company I recommended and turned about 20 people onto.

Same here but more recently! Went from superior speeds and great internet, to super slow speeds and constant dropped internet. The tower modem literally died and we got a replacement (looks different than the one we had) and since then, horrible service! I’m ready to go elsewhere.
