Sprint Announces Support for Customers in Puerto Rico Impacted by the Earthquake

January 07, 2020

To assist customers affected by the earthquake that struck southern parts of the island today, Sprint will provide unlimited talk, text and data access to all customers at no extra cost from January 7 – January 9, 2020.

Sprint’s teams are also closely monitoring the network as well as the local utility company’s ongoing emergency commercial power shut off.

Finally, Sprint customers who would like to support those impacted by the earthquake in Puerto Rico can text-to-donate a one-time gift to the World Central Kitchen. The donation will appear on customers’ wireless bills or will be added to their prepaid balance. Standard text messaging fees have been waived.

  • Text "FOOD" to 80100 to donate $10 to the World Central Kitchen to provide meals to the people displaced or directly impacted by Puerto Rico Earthquakes.

Please note that retail locations on the island are currently closed due to a lack of power. Once power restoration is complete, stores will open as soon as possible.

UPDATE: All open store locations will serve as charging stations for anyone in the area. Please check the Sprint store locator tool to confirm that the store nearest you is currently open.
