Solution: Change internet companies. The new company doesn’t reboot the modem everyday and I have full access to the modems lots. I really wanted to stay with TMobile. There are a couple of other factors other than the service that affected my decision. TMobile doesn’t let me create a ticket. I know this sounds stupid but I like creating tickets and putting in all the troubleshooting steps that i already completed along with havingthe ability to attach screen captures of various errors or settings. I can’t access the modems logs. This is huge. Without the logs it is impossible to know what is going on. Was the reboot intentional? Did it reboot due to an error? The logs contain a plethora of information and without it we are blind. When contacting TMobile support their strategy is to reboot, reboot, and reboot. I don't think the customers have access to a technical support staff. I think it is a call center and they are following directions listed on a document without any real ability to trouble shoot technical errors. Like many others I had to change my MTU settings to stabilize my work’s VPN. There are many posts where people said what MTU setting worked for them. After trial and error I found that 1480 worked best for my companies VPN. I recommend searching “TMobile MTU VPN” to see what the others said. Additionally I disabled IPV6 just to be safe. Here is the process that I used: Windows 10 > Search > CMD > Command Prompt (run as administrator) This commandshows you your current MTU settings on your pc/laptop: “netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces” This command changes your MTU setting: “netsh interface ipv4 set interface "Ethernet 2" mtu=1480” Replace “Ethernet 2” with your Interface connection.4Views1like0CommentsRe: Home Internet modem rebooting daily.

Let us know if this fixes your issue. Thank you for the reply. That is interesting. I received the modem on 04/17/2024. It worked perfectly for a while but that didn’t last long. Starting on Monday 07/15/2024 I noticed that my modem is auto rebooting between 8am and 9:30am CT. I can’t see the modems logs to research why it is rebooting. A modem shouldn’t be rebooting everyday. This is causing issues as it is disconnecting me from work and it has high visibility with my management since I have been kicked off more than one conference call. Just need to read the package that you get to make sure it is fiber and not dsl or cable. I see a consistent pattern of people stating that their speeds significantly decrease late at night. Hopefully someone will escalate this to the technical team who can state why this is happening. My guess is it may be due to nightly IT maintenance but it’s purely speculation. “During the day my gateway pulls about 500 Mbps and has a “Very Good” signal. Without moving or changing anything about the setup, usage area, or anything, around 8PM Eastern my speeds go down to MAX 5 Mbps. I relayed this to Customer Care, and while they seem sympathetic to the plight, they ultimately just want me to continuously restart the gateway so they can reconnect it to the tower because it has “stopped communicating.” Is this the common reply that everyone is getting? @MAUI671I have the exact same issue except my speeds drop after 2am central time. Obviously this kicks me off the internet. I work in IT. If I am compiling a program and I lose connection to the internet there is a good chance the program will be corrupted. My T Mobile home internet use to be extremely stable with download speeds of 200+. I still get the good download speeds until after midnight then everything slows down to download speeds of 57 or less with a significant increase in ping and latency.14Views0likes0Comments
