I just don’t understand the disconnect or differences in the 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G wireless generations and why 5G seems to be so different. I never had to second guess what my status bar is indicating. I have had “5G” connection issues on Apple, Samsung, and now Google devices. Random errors like “emergency calls only” or no signal whatsoever. Or full 5G UC access - yet I can dial my phone and watch it not ring or indicate a missed call. I can even send a text message or leave a voicemail and neither ever arrive. Thought this issue was limited to Samsung and Apple. Got a Pixel - same issue - so I think it’s the Tech itself and/or the tower but not the devices. Had 5G + on my Pixel 6 - placed a call while out and it rang but left voicemail - nothing. Realized the voicemail didn’t pop up - tried again - nothing. Then I got a “missed” call. Yet no ring. When asked, the person said it rang but it was a long delay, and it didn’t seem like a regular ring. Not sure why this is but when 5G is enabled, at some point your device “disconnects” from the network and you have no idea you have missed any contact attempts. Turn 5G off? Walla! Issues are gone. Smh Did those two voicemails ever pop up? Nope! Still waiting. Imagine if someone called me during this time, left their dying will on my voicemail and I would not have any clue they called me, let alone that they left a message. Meanwhile my phone shows connected and full 5G access. T-Mobile engineers need to speak on this, and they need to stop this 5G push if it isn’t even reliable. NEVER had to ponder if my device is connected or not with LTE. NEVER. I guess I will try 5G when 6G comes out ……….5.5KViews8likes14CommentsTmobile Network
What has happened to Tmobile network recently? Text msgs failing, apps and TV taking forever to load. Constantly getting offline no network connection. Happens at home and not at home. Over WiFi or not. I've been a customer for over 9 yrs and the network has gotten severely disrupted. Very disappointed. I call support and they say there have been several outages reported in my area since March 14, 2023, but this has been happening and getting worse for another the last 2 months. I don't expect a response.276Views7likes3CommentsT-Mobile Fails to Deliver on Promised Cell Site Improvement in Newbury Park, CA
I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment with T-Mobile's failure to deliver on their promises regarding improved cell service in my area. Promises, Promises: In February 2023, I was informed that a new cell site was scheduled to be deployed to specifically address the poor coverage issues in my neighborhood. However, when I contacted T-Mobile in May 2023, I was given no clear explanation for the delay and no new estimated timeframe for completion. Instead, they offered me a free CellSpot device, which I declined as it wouldn't solve the broader coverage problem outside my home. Unacceptable Transparency: Additionally, T-Mobile has been incredibly secretive about the location of the new cell site. I believe customers have a right to know where infrastructure projects are planned, especially when they directly impact the quality of service we receive. This lack of transparency further undermines T-Mobile's credibility and erodes customer trust. Disrupted Communication and Empty Offers: The poor coverage has significantly impacted my ability to use my phone for basic tasks like making phone calls. This has been incredibly frustrating and disruptive, especially in a time when reliable communication is essential. T-Mobile's proposed solutions, like the CellSpot device, do not address the root cause of the problem and feel like mere band-aids on a larger issue. Consequences and Next Steps: This experience has left me feeling disillusioned and undervalued as a customer. T-Mobile's failure to deliver on their promises has forced me to consider switching to a provider that can offer the reliable service I expect. I urge T-Mobile to take immediate action to address these issues: Provide a clear timeline for the completion of the new cell site project and be transparent about its location. Offer meaningful solutions to customers impacted by the poor coverage, not just temporary fixes. Improve communication and transparency to rebuild customer trust. Until T-Mobile takes these steps, I cannot recommend them as a mobile service provider. I am sharing my experience to warn other potential customers about the unreliable service and empty promises they may encounter.437Views4likes9CommentsTexting issues, trouble sending
So has anyone else had problems with texting messages not going out? It randomly about once or sometimes twice a week, won’t send out texts and just says “trouble sending, see options” under the text I just tried to send out. It’s very irritating and happens at least once a week. I reset and I played witht he RCS and it’s weird because I can send GIFs but not texts, the phone works fine and I have called and called about it. I NEVER had this problem till I switched to TMobile. Any ideas or similar issue anyone? If it matters I have a motorola edge 2022 and I have the magenta plan. I’m new here s if it takes me a minute to find any responses, I apologize ahead of time lol.1.8KViews3likes15Commentsis there some sort of way to request an area for 2G to NOT shut down?
Is there some sort of way to request an area for 2G to NOT shut down? I know T-Mobile is shutting down 2G on april 2 2024, but I work with old phones a lot and sometimes my area with LTE/5G goes to no service when it gets overloaded, while 2G stays strong since it’s not overloaded. I was wondering if there was a thing to request an area to keep 2G alive, just like how they have 3G alive in very few places still. I was wondering if my city or county or some sort of thing near me could keep 2G, and/or other peoples areas as well. I know someone who only gets signal with 2G and no other carrier can get signal, not even T-Mobile LTE or 5G. also why is 2G going away in the first place? I can’t find any info online and to me it doesn’t make sense since other places keep it up for 10+ more years1.4KViews3likes17Comments5G Ultra Capacity --- NOT!
Looking at the coverage map, my home is in a supposedly “5g Ultra Capacity” area. Yet, at my home, I only get one bar, most of the time and two bars sometimes, but rarely. I only get 5mbps download and 0.2 mbps upload speeds. What do I have to do to get better coverage? Does T-Mobile ever erect new towers or troubleshoot reception issues in the field? I’ve used my phone in some actual 5g Ultra Capacity areas and I got 568mbps download speeds which I thought was remarkable. Will I ever get this at home? I’d switch to home internet in a second if I could really get 568mbps downloads at home. Obviously, the technology is capable of fantastic performance.527Views2likes1CommentDowntown Billings, MT - DO NOT SWITCH TO TMO - THEY NEGLECT OUR TOWERS
hello, i thought id drop by here to let everyone in my area who might be thinking about switching to them know that the service is godawful, and it appears they have zero plans for midband 5G here. it’s especially pathetic that the midband is in most small towns BUT not the largest city in MT. The tower downtown (the big one on n. 22nd street) is insanely overloaded and oversubscribed. it was erected a few years back after people started jumping ship again from the bad signal from lack of towers. now they’ve neglected the overloaded tower and it malfunctions practically every weekday from 9a-9p. AT&T has actually rolled out 5G service correctly, and so has Verizon. T-MO is once again left as the worst and slowest carrier in Billings. (don’t believe me, check rootmetrics!) i would love to switch but i’m currently stuck with them and have major buyers remorse. also, youd be lucky if a call goes out or comes in when roaming. so listen fellow Billingsites - don’t do it. you’ve been warned.137Views2likes0CommentsZERO service during thunderstorms?
Does anyone else lose service completely every time there’s a bad storm?! I’ve never had this issue with any other provider until T-Mobile (which I didn’t even choose to get, but thanks to them buying out Sprint I had no choice). It either says “SOS” or “no service” and even in rare cases when it shows 1 bar of LTE, absolutely nothing will load. Can’t even get texts or calls to go through!!! Most recently happened this past Sunday, and I lost all service almost immediately when it started raining and before the storm even got bad. SO FRUSTRATING!!! And also frightening since I was unable to check in with family for over 12 hours.1.5KViews1like9CommentsIs my neighbor's 4G LTE Cellspot degrading my service?
For reference I live in an apartment building which has acceptable T-Mobile service as I've gone years without any issues living here. A new neighbor has moved in recently, and I noticed that I have been experiencing worse call quality and more calls have been dropping. Our building has a very spotty internet provider with high ping and slow upload speeds. A few things lead me to believe that my new neighbors have installed a T-Mobile 4G LTE Cellspot. I'm familiar with the Cellspot because my parents live in a rural area and have one in their home. In the past my phone used to display 5G service regularly, now instead it displays LTE exclusively. When stepping outside about twenty yards away from the building my 5G service returns. I also receive better speeds when running a speed test outside away from my building. Inside of my building I barely reach 40 mbs down and usually below 5 mbs upload speed which is important for calls and video calls. Speed and the quality of calls has never been an issue before. But only recently because of this I’m needing to leave my home to make calls. It's frustrating because like I said this is a recent issue and I can pin it to something that's making it worse. I use my T-Mobile service to get away from my terrible internet to begin with. I understand that there is no way to connect to the tower directly because the Cellspot is basically a small tower itself and the phone connects there by default. What are my options?1.5KViews1like8Comments
