If you are using the t-mobile internet app, at the bottom there is a tab, middle of the bottom that says Network. Try that. It should show your networks. Select one to change or create a new one.
If using t-life app, scroll the Home page up to find "Home Internet" and your network name. Touch it to select.
Then choose "My Wifi" at the top middle.
Select your network from the list.
It should now allow you to edit the name, etc.

Recheck the sequence of steps you followed. I just verified that the steps work.

Hi. Thanks for writing and help. I’m going to rewrite the steps here, as I just got off the phone with TMobile and was able to change, and I’m saving them here for my future self. :-)
- On bottom of main menu, click “Connect”.
- Once there, click on “Things”, and click on your router, which should appear in the bottom.
- In the next page, click “My Wi-Fi”, in the top middle portion (right under your router’s name).
- In the next page, you will see the section called “My Networks”. Your network name should be listed there. Click on the arrow on the right.
- Page will open to Network Details. In “General details” section, you can just type the new name you want for the network and the password. One thing I noticed when changing network name, I wasn’t allowed to put spaces or special characters in the network name.
- Once you type the changes, scroll to bottom and click on “Save”.
- Changes will then get saved to the system. It will take a few minutes for it to be fixed.
Hope this helps others.
