Home Internet Device has caused a revolution in the market !!
I just dropped ATT for my Home Internet Device which was MOBILE/PORTABLE. Now, I have locked into the $50/month 5G Gateway A. Now that T-Mobile competitors are beating my doors down with BRAND NEW offers intended to “blow away” the Gateway A deal, I wonder what to do? The one thing which would keep me locked into the 5G Gateway A for years would be that IT WAS MOBILE/PORTABLE and that I could take it with me for all the times I spend at my camper!! What could possibly be the LOGIC that that would NOT make sense ??

Truth be told: Spectrum and TDS Metrocom and others, located right out on my front lawn, are beating my door down at my home now to switch to similar plans locked in for life - which are much faster than the t-mobile gateway. I also have Directv and the others bombard me with cost effective alternatives. BUT, there is one thing which no other service can offer! As we spend about 6 months a year away from our home at a camper, there are truly no other services which are cost effective - other than to MOVE controllers from one location to another and yet get the same service for the ONE price. This may be a somewhat small piece of the whole pie, but I hope there are enough others (and likely moreso going forward) who fall into this same scenario and have no other cost effective nor better alternatives. The mobile/portable option is just the only way for some to go!

Be aware that portable use of a T-Mobile Home Internet gateway is against T-Mobile’s Terms and Conditions:
Unless explicitly permitted by your Rate Plan or Data Plan, you are not permitted to use your Device or the Services in a way that we determine:
Uses a fixed wireless device (provided for use in a fixed location) at a location or address other than the one provided at activation.

Before T-Mobile will allow you to participate in their Home Internet plan, they check to make sure that the geographic environment in your area has the capacity to handle it. As an example, I had to wait over a year before my area was qualified.
There are others who have contributed to this Forum who have mobile homes or campers that use their gateways on the road. You might want to contact Support to find out what needs to be programmed for you to use it as a travel device.
IMO, I don't think the device was designed for traveling. That behavior would more resemble a mobile hot spot, which T-Mobile also sells.
Good luck!
