has anyone else been scammed by T-Mobile?
I have been a T Mobile customer for a couple of months and have had a similarly terrible experience so far. I switched over from Verizon after being promised a monthly amount I was happy with by a telephone sales rep. My first bill was about $60 higher than the amount promised. I called and spent about an hour trying to convince a customer service rep who couldn’t or wouldn’t help me resolve the issue to put me through to a supervisor. Finally, I did get to a supervisor after I said I wanted to cancel my plan since I was within the buyer’s remorse period. The supervisor explained that the person who set up my account made an error, that she could fix it and I would be billed the promised amount going forward.I was very happy with that. Yesterday I got a bill that was $40 higher than the promised amount. I again call and get the runaround from a customer service rep who also interrupted me multiple times and scolded me for not wanting to listen to him explain to me why I was wrong. I eventually convinced him to put me through to a supervisor who told me there was no way that the previous supervisor I spoke to could have modified my plan so that I would be billed the promised amount. He said the only thing that could’ve happened was that a customer service credit was applied to my bill but that would be a one time credit. If that is true, it means that the previous supervisor blatantly lied to me. If it’s not true, then the supervisor I was talking to yesterdaydid not know what she was talking about. Since all their calls are recorded, I asked yesterday supervisor to listen to that call with the previous supervisor to figure out what she did or confirm that she gave me false information. The supervisor put me on hold for a little while then came back and told me she could not listen to the phone call because That other supervisor was in a different building. As if they record the phone calls on cassette tapes next to each individual operator‘s desk and they do not have email or phones that can reach people at otherbuildings at T-Mobile. As if they operate in completely isolated silos from each other. This was when I realized I was being given the runaround and I was naïve to think that I could get fair treatment from T-Mobile. Next, I asked if I could still return the phones I got from them and cancel my plan. I was told I was too late and now I fully feel like I’ve been scammed by T-Mobile. I will cancel my plan and go back to Verizon or some other provider on the very first day that will be possible to do so without penalty. In the meantime, I would be very surprised if my bill is correct next month and I am confident I will have to call T-Mobilego through this nonsense again next month.
