5G in France
How can I get consistant 5G while traveling in France when available. Usually if I am watching YouTube for a long time the phone drops to 4G and then to 2G. I want a consistant 5G (where available). Are there any plans I can add to . I have Magenta +
Try buying a French eSIM for data (e.g. SFR or Orange). You'll need an unlocked phone. The problem is that your T-Mobile data has to tunnel back to T-Mobile's servers in the USA before getting to the Internet. This connection can't be guaranteed. A local eSIM's data hits the Internet in France. Also, T-Mobile's data throttles video data streams.
You will need to purchase a high speed data add-on for roaming. Unlimited data while roaming, is at speeds not good enough to stream most content. You can call 611 and speak to Customer Care about your options or reach out to T-Mobile via a DM on Facebook or Twitter/X.
I need 5G speed all the time ,regardlessof how much I used. Obiviously, if the part of france I am going to has 5G. If I went over the allotted usage, I wind up dropping to 4G or as low as 2G. I can't have that while I am in France. Any suggestions?
