i can't use this app i can log on to the website but i need to log on to this app to go into virtual reality

it will let me do it on my other cable providers but something to do with this cable and this is the cable i use from my home, and it will not let me use their download VR client which is what i need to connect to some in space to be inside of the VR

  • I am just guessing the problem is with port blocking.

    https://www.t-mobile.com/home-internet/faq

    Per the FAQs:

Some online gaming requires advanced settings and configurations (ex. NAT/Port forwarding, UPnP/Static IP). These settings cannot be configured on the T-MobileGateway.

T-Mobile gateways do not have the ability to enable and disable NAT/port forwarding.

    • Refer to the manufacturer or developer if NAT or port forwarding is needed.

yeah it's hilarious everything else works for me with T-Mobile except for this

  • Some game solutions work and others not. If the service needs specific ports T-Mobile does not deal with port forwarding. It is in part due to their use of 464XLAT and the IPv6 network they run. You could check with the specifics for that site for the details about what is required. If it doesn't work with a VPN it for sure is not going to work without one.

So here's the place I'm trying to go but I can't use them their VR client but here's the name of the company somniumspace.com maybe I'll try a VPN and see what happens thank you for your time

  • Your post does not provide any details about your VR host so no one can provide much. I can speculate that part of your problem with the service is that it requires a static IPv4 address which you do not get with the T-Mobile home internet gateway solution for $50/month. Some gamers use VPN solutions to get their gaming solutions working. Of course using a VPN may also come with the additional cost for a static IP address as well as the cost of the VPN solution. The T-Mobile home internet gateway solution is not gamer friendly. The communication goes out over the 464XLAT solution that T-Mobile uses. In effect their network is an IPv6 network and uses CLAT/PLAT for the IPv4 to IPV6 to IPv4 translations and the public IP addresses can and do change. So, if you need a static IP address and port forwarding for IPv4 communication you need to re-evaluate your situation.
