LG V20 Text
I have one contact that will not give the option to send a SCHEDULED TEXT. As a matter of fact this one contact also does not give the option to ADD SUBJECT. All other contacts give the option to schedule text and add subject. I have deleted the contact and rebooted the phone at leas 3 times but it still does not show the option to schedule text and add subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's definitely a good call out. It might also be worth trying to note whether the problem comes back after you use a certain app each time, to see if something else is disrupting it.

Hey Aceh,
Your thread is over 4 years ago but, I have that same issue. There's ONLY ONE contact that is the issue as well.

I have had the LG Stylo 6 for just a month or two now and this problem showed up for me as well. It came out of nowhere. It wasn't happening with people I had been texting already with scheduled messages.
What I have been able to discover is that when someone has Advanced Messaging enabled I cannot schedule a text message to that person. When that person does not have Advanced Messaging enabled/capability (I don't know which) I can schedule a message to them. My phone shows me with a purple texting icon in a contact profile that the person has Advanced Messaging. I can see that they don't if it is a different color.
I tested this with multiple users, both with and without, before I came here to reply. I had it with only 1 contact, but a second contact with the issue gave me the clue. I do not have any Advanced Messaging features enabled on my device as far as I can tell, even though it's supported. I think this is the problem and it is not only T-Mobile to T-Mobile people. It's all contacts on any carrier who appear to have that feature/capability.

Found a new, pain in the butt work around. Similar to the other solution presented here. Go to message home use + to add a message. Enter the body of the message. Then select schedule, add time. After that, enter the contact. Here is the tricky part. You've gotta move quick. Click schedule before it recognizes them as a fellow t-mobile android user. If you are too slow it goes to the send arrow instead of "set"

I have found when this happens it is usually other t-mobile android users. I used to be able to work around by adding new message, set schedule, then add the contact. That is no longer working on new LG v 60.

Hello. I'm having the same problem. The instructions to schedule a message first then enter the contact worked on the LGg7 but it automatically discards the scheduled message on the LGV60. It's happening on my wife's contac , which is really unhelpful. Any help would be great.
Thank you,
Jared

Actually, those are the instructions for my husband's LG; however, you can't enter a chat - you must hit the "+" to write a new message from the conversation list. 😉

This helped me - thank you!

Do you have a Samsung device, by chance? I was researching this issue and came across some instructions very similar but they were specific to Samsung devices. One's mileage may vary depending on the manufacturer, software version, and application used for messaging. On my LG, I don't have the option, and I tried it in the stock messenger as well as Android Messages. When the latter (for some reason) no longer gave me the option for Night Mode, I switched to Textra and I love it. I can assign individual notification ringtones, schedule messages, and keep things nice and easy on the eyes.

I know this post is old but I've had the same problem with random contacts on several different phones over the years. I don't know why it happens but I've found a 7-step workaround as follows:
1) Go to Text Messages
2) Tap + to create a new message
3) Tap the 3-dot menu at top right corner and select Schedule Sending
4) Select what time you wish to send your message and tap Save (this will take you back to the message screen).
5) Select or type the recipient's contact/name/number, etc., and when the prompt appears telling you your schedule will be lost/deleted, tap Cancel to keep the schedule (I know this sounds backwards but it works for me and selecting Ok deletes it).
6) Type your message.
7) Tap Set and you're done!
Again, I know this post is old but maybe this workaround can still help someone since it is still a problem for some.
Cheers!

Could it depend on where the contact persons phone number is stored? You can add a new contact on a different account or your Sim card.
