service problems
6 TopicsIs my neighbor's 4G LTE Cellspot degrading my service?
For reference I live in an apartment building which has acceptable T-Mobile service as I've gone years without any issues living here. A new neighbor has moved in recently, and I noticed that I have been experiencing worse call quality and more calls have been dropping. Our building has a very spotty internet provider with high ping and slow upload speeds. A few things lead me to believe that my new neighbors have installed a T-Mobile 4G LTE Cellspot. I'm familiar with the Cellspot because my parents live in a rural area and have one in their home. In the past my phone used to display 5G service regularly, now instead it displays LTE exclusively. When stepping outside about twenty yards away from the building my 5G service returns. I also receive better speeds when running a speed test outside away from my building. Inside of my building I barely reach 40 mbs down and usually below 5 mbs upload speed which is important for calls and video calls. Speed and the quality of calls has never been an issue before. But only recently because of this I’m needing to leave my home to make calls. It's frustrating because like I said this is a recent issue and I can pin it to something that's making it worse. I use my T-Mobile service to get away from my terrible internet to begin with. I understand that there is no way to connect to the tower directly because the Cellspot is basically a small tower itself and the phone connects there by default. What are my options?1.5KViews1like8Commentsinternational service just stopped working
Hi there! I have an international plan and my international plan just stopped working today. No service at all , even when back in a service area. Same thing happened to my mom who was on Verizon. Tried calling Tech Support but was on hold for more than 40 mins with no response . Any way anyone can assist ?1.2KViews1like17CommentsThe 5gUC "upgrade" bricks my iPhone 12 Pro
T-mobile just “upgraded” towers in my area to carry signals as 5gUC but whenever my phone switches from 5g to 5gUC, the data gets bricked. My family has four T-mobile iPhones, from the 12 Pro through the new 14, and this is affecting ALL of our iPhones. When we are on 5gUC, we can’t text, can’t download pictures or video, can’t upload anything at all, and cannot open apps. NOTHING works on 5gUC on any of our iPhones except the phone calling feature. That’d be fine if I was paying for a landline phone, but these are iPhones! Come on, T-mobile! I spent well over an hour on the phone with T-mobile tech support on Wednesday, and they had me go into settings and “reset iPhone,” then “reset network settings,” and supposedly they were fine-tuning something on their end with a supervisor assisting to “fix” the issue with 5gUC. This made things better for one day, then today (two days later) the 5gUC bricked all our phones again. Hey T-mobile, if you rolled out something that doesn’t work, FIX IT! And no, the solution is not to send your customers back to 2019 LTE only service when we are paying for 5G capability. Turn off the 5gUC features on your towers and go back to the 5G service that worked before the UC “upgrade” until you have the problems ironed out. Quit compromising service with a clearly botched upgrade. T-mobile tech support had me use my Verizon cell phone from my work for most of the hour long call with their tech support… because my T-mobile service wasn’t working… I’m starting to think that’s significant in some way….1.1KViews1like3CommentsS21 Ultra Loses Data 4g/5g but not texting or calls after update
Hi, Runing a Galaxy S21 Ultra T-Mobile (SM-G998U) My phone pulled down the latest T-Mobile update yesterday around 10am EST time Installed it. Since then I have lost all data connectivity unless using Wi-Fi, texting and phone calls are fine. I tried the troubleshooting below: Restart Power off/Power On Pulled the sim card (while off and On Changing the network modes to LTE/3g and LTE/3G/2G Manually creating an APN with IPV4/IPV6 Manually Selecting Networking operators (also tried AT&T then back to T-Mobile) Did some errands in other towns to confirm it is not a tower problem other phone in the house does have 4g/5g full signal. My phone does have full bars as well just missing the 4G/5G symbol.884Views1like1Comment
