You could still use the Linksys router, connected via Ethernet to the gateway. Then download the third-party app called HINT Control to turn off the gateway’s Wi-Fi.

I wonder if these are related - the schedule not behaving, and the app not behaving.
Can you manually reboot the gateway once a day? It’s annoying, but probably the simplest “solution.”
