On an iPhone with 5G you can dial *3001#12345#* and put it in what is called Field Test Mode. It will allow you to see the cellular information. It can be helpful. I bring up the info and screen shot the information when I am doing diagnosis. Knowing if there is a 5G signal helps. Knowing the PCI value, the physical cell identifier, allows the cell to be located via CellMapper.net which during setup and location of the gateway can be very helpful to know. It also helps establish proper expectations. If the tower is too far away or the other side of a large building or mountain it is going to be of little value. Trees, hills, buildings, trains, weather, other radios such as EMT or trucking can all add issues like noise or knock the signal down. Any obstructions in the Fresnel zone causes some signal degradation if it is beyond 20% as I recall. Clear line of sight is often rare.
