Changing the DNS

There is a need for me to use the DNS to 8.8.8.8 from google. How can I set that for my T-Mobile Hotspot (home router)

  • I suggest that you get a real router between the T-Mobile gateway and your devices.  Although T-Mobile gateway has some primitive router functions, it is far from being adequate for anyone who doesn’t just plug and play. Lack of configuration for DNS server is a prime example.

You don't. There is no way to change the DNS on the gateway. Anything to do with TCP/IP is locked away from the user on the gateway.

Instead, change the DNS settings on your client(s). Whether you're on a Mac or PC, you can go to the network settings and enter the DNS settings you want.
