G4AR gateway SECURE guest mode?
I’m setting up IOT devices on my new Wireless Home Internet G4AR gateway. I’m trying to put the IOT devices on a SEPARATE network, as now recommended by all security wonks. But the “Add A Network” feature does not create a SEPARATE network, it simply creates a different SSID - all devices on all SSIDs can see all other devices on all other SSIDs.
How do I create a truly separate network? It seems inconceivable that TMob would release a new gateway without this basic security feature, even my 6 year old cheapo ATT gateway had it...
@ThisUserNameAlreadyExists from our experience, the TM gateways are simply access points to their internet network. The gateways lack robust features. If you want to add features like you are talking about, you must buy a mesh wifi system with the features you desire, or grab an old PC and install pfSense like I did. Now, I have several VLANs that provide security and network segmentation.
