Canon printer won't connect to TMobile wifi router
I was using AT&T but changed internet service over to TMobile. Now neither my Canon all in one nor the HP simple printer will connect. Help!
Your problem is pretty common among T-Mobile Internet users. This usually fixes the problem.
Try adding a new WiFi network for the Canon(s). Use the T-Mobile app and tap the Network tab on the bottom, then the “+” button on the lower right. Create a new 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a unique name (SSID), just for your printer. Make sure the WPA type is WPA/WPA2. This is different from your main network which, by default, is WPA2/WPA3.
Now, go to your printer and clear out all of the information you have entered for your printer’s setup and then recreate your wireless connection to the new network you just created. I'll bet you'll be good to go.
Good luck!

Thank you very much! The printer’s life has been saved :) Wow, so frustrating, but yes finally got the password prompt and successful connection. 👍🏻👍🏻

I finally got my Canon IP8720 connected by using the USB to Wireless option.
First connect usb cable from printer to computer, follow instructions. At one point it tells you to disconnect the USB and then it finishes up the wireless side.
The printer now works on the 2.4 and 5ghz networks.

Trying to connect canon ts6020 printer and feel like I’ve tried it all…created a new address with the app. It doesn’t prompt me for a password though…just can’t connect. Any other suggestions???

Assuming you used the instructions above to create a WPA/WPA2 2.4 GHz network, I'd clear out the setup on the Canon printer and return it to the way it was when you first configured it. After you've done that, could you try again to connect your gateway to the printer?
Good luck!

Use the t-mobile app. Tap the tab. The app is confusing to me, I have only been working with computers and related items since 1978. How about some screen shots that show where all these mysterious settings are located.

This page has instructions for the newer T Life app and the older Internet app. The Tutorials for the Internet app have illustrations. I haven’t seen illustrations of the T Life app.

I don’t have the skills to make and mark up screen shots from my phone. However, these written instructions did help someone else:
T Life app instructions to create new 2.4 GHz network:
Connect (at the bottom) > Things (at the top) > tap your Gateway > tap Manage > under My Networks, you will see each one you already have.
To create a new network, tap Network (at the top.) Under My Networks, tap + Add Network to open the page to set up your new network. Give it name (SSID) and a password; select the frequency band (2.4 GHz); select the WPA version (WPA/WPA2). (Encryption mode is automatically set when you select a WPA version). Tap Save at the bottom.
