Unlock my previous phone after upgrading
I have given my sister my old Samsung S22 Ultra and now use a S24 Ultra. I live in America, but my family is from England and my sister still lives there. I assumed the American S22 Ultra was already unlocked, so I didn't even think about unlocking it through T-Mobile before I upgraded. I am now, of course, back in the US and the old phone in the UK.
Is there a way for me to unlock the old phone through T-Mobile? I have the IMEI etc, and the phone can surely be linked to my account to prove it was mine. I'm guessing now, but it would have been my daily driver for a year or two.
What are my options here?

Being an Android she also can request a a temporary unlock till she visits.

This is worth trying even if I have not used the old phone for a while? T-Mobile remembers the phone and it's usage data related to my account? My sister will visit me soon, so I should be able to do this.

If the phone meets the requirements it can be unlocked over wifi with no Sim in it. I've done this a couple of times with older phones.

That's why you should have requested the SIM unlock before taking your SIM out of the device and waiting for it to process. You might need to meet the network usage requirements again but hopefully not.

You need to request the permanwnt SIM unlock through the T-Mobile Unlock app while your T-Mobile SIM is in it. The app verifies your device and account have met all of the SIM unlock requirements and then either confirms or denies the permanent SIM unlock.
