TMobile locked my AT&T Phone

Hi,

I newly purchased AT&T Postpaid Iphone week before.

During the activation Instead of AT&T SIM Card by mistake i put TMobile SIM Card into it (Ultra Mobile SIM Card)

So my AT&T Phone got locked by TMobile carrier.

Now i am not able to use my AT&T SIM in AT&T Phone because its been locked my Sprint TMobile carrier.

Initially i worked with Apple support to identify the problem. They only confirmed that TMobile is the one who has to release the lock to use this phone with AT&T.

I have been working with TMobile for a week and did not get a proper response from them.

They initially said that they want to whitelist this IMEI so they sent a request to internal dept.

Then they asked me to go to physical TMobile store to verify my identity, Physical phone and Prrof of purchase --- I completed all these process

Still my phone is locked by TMobile and they are not responding properly.

Let me know what else i can do before TMobile unlock my phone.

  • You need to contact Tmobile support because this is basically a user to user forum with some tmobile moderation that don't have account access so no one here can really help. All we can do is point you in a direction that may help.

Where did you buy the phone. Apple has a flex policy where 3rd party vendors SELL “unlocked” phones that lock to the first sim card carrier.

    I purchased it from walmart.com AT&T

Ys that is what the policy is for. Walmart carriers Reseller Flex devices. You need to talk to T-Mobile T-Force with your receipt and they'll confirm it is tied to T-Mobile and then they'll put the IMEI in their database to unlock it. Without doing that it'll forever be locked to T-Mobile.

Yes i have given all proofs physically at the TMobile store and they confirmed to TMobile customer care to white list the IMEI but since i dont have the TMobile account each time i call them they are creating new request (which is not referred when i call next time) and it is in not resolved status forever.

Those phones are locked to the first sim inserted. The only truly unlocked Apple phone is sold at Apple stores. So if a Tmobile sim is first inserted you need to meet Tmobile's unlock requirements.

And then the customer blames the first carrier they put the sim in that their unlocked phone is now locked.
