Need Help Unlocking.
I bought a used phone from ebay , was told it was unlocked. I had it a few months , and was wondering if I could get help sim unlocking. The guy I bought it from is not answering ,about requesting and unlock for me. Can I make a new account , and unlock the phone or no?
No. iPhone's are sometimes sold jailbroken. When they get an update that patches the exploit, the device returns to functioning normally. SIM umlocks for T-Mobile iPhones need to be approved by T-Mobile, then are forwarded on to Apple to be completed. You might want to see if there is anything Ebay can do to help you track down the seller to return it for a refund.
Also is it an iPhone ? If it is just having problems now it sounds like the phone is blocked and was reported lost or stolen.
it is an iPhone 14 , and the IMEI comes back clean and not blacklisted I even texted support to confirm. the phone is clean , just no way to get to original owner since I got it online and they have ghosted me.
Your best option is to look at one of those third party unlocking services, like the ones offered by your local cellphone repair shops.
To qualify for a SIM unlock from T-Mobile YSA, your account and device would have to meet all of the SIM Unlock Policy requirements. The original receipt for the device might also be required.
