Can I Opt Out of the new Starlink Program?
I feel the same way. Generally I am ok with T-Mobile, but I don't think supporting Elon Musk is a good publicity move. I started looking for other carriers as I don't want to support Elon Musk with my money. I hope that T-Mobile reconsiders this partnership.
I don't know if T-Mobile can back out. AT&T and Verizon have already announced their plans to bring satellite capability to their customers. From what I understand T-Mobile started working on this deal a couple of years ago, long before Elon switched from an EV guru to the political stuff he's been up to the past few of months. For T-Mobile to just drop their partnership with Starlink and start from zero would be saying to their customers that if they want satellite capability, go to AT&T or Verizon.
I'm not telling you what to do, do what you want. But I do worry that T-Mobile could be either done for or done for.

democracy or T-mobile?
Not a hard choice
The carriers should pool their resources to provide the equivalent service even if takes a while.

And why should all carriers pool their resources and provide equivalent services? Has anyone offered T-Mobile an alternative satellite service? Do you know for sure that AT&T or Verizon would share their satellite services with T-Mobile for a reasonable price? And can you guarantee that the CEO of whatever alternative satellite service won't suddenly become a politician himself?
