Seems there are also other solutions and work arounds for sms/mms failing and/or getting delay between platforms especially when on wifi and cellular .Depending on what model and SW is currently installed ,the following may resolve:
- if older model Android : enable “free” or “warning" restrictions in message app settings under MMS . Chat settings for text: toggle between uni/auto under input settings to receive when data is off.
- for MVNO sub devices ,check your APN ipv4/ipv6 protocols.
- connections; data usage : set apps to always use mobile data even when on wifi
- if on WiFi calling , and MMSC is http not (s) in your APN profile: make sure your router does not have any firewall or port filter block for MMS app. WLAN ipv4/ip6 set to match APN profile. Ensure to updated e911 address ,enable location.
- enable push/fetch notifications, time-sensitive.
- Specific secure port/udp settings can also be found or provided from support search/tier 2.
- look for short codes to forward your sms/mms to your "tmo.net" email if addon is enabled to receive on email instead.
