and please keep in mind that you are posting online..which in most cases are fully public areas..at this time everyone and their mom now know your sons full name and his contact number..i marked it to be edited out..but just keep cautious of the things that get posted. zero personal info

You can sign into your Mytmobile accoun, line profile and select the line you need to change.

From my understanding, changing the outgoing Caller ID name has to be done through Customer Care.  You can do that by calling 611 or by sending a DM to T-Mobile on Facebook or Twitter to have them make the change for you.  

This is basically a user to user forum with some tmobile moderation that don't have account access so you but you should be able to go into.
your Mytmobile account and put in the request.

Also since this is a public forum you may want to delete his phone number.
