Help to unlock a phone using a dot matrix.

Help to unlock a phone using a dot matrix. 
My phone is demanding that I trace a pattern on the dot matrix to unlock. I have no idea what the pattern is, of course. I have tried 38 times with no luck. Anyone know any secret tricks? The t-mobile store cannot help me and sent me to geek squad in a few weeks!
