How to shop

We love trade-ins! You may be able to use the value of your old phone towards a new purchase.

We accept qualified T-Mobile and non-T-Mobile trade-ins for new device purchases.

  • Get a Device Trade-in estimate online.
  • Estimated value may differ from appraised value.
  • You may accept the assessed value of the device or request to have your device returned to you.
  • If $0 or no number displays, there is no trade-in value.
  • The easiest way to trade-in is at a T-Mobile store to ensure accurate device value.
  • Trade-ins are also accepted by mail. Equipment value may change after evaluation.
  • A trade-in must be included in the original order when placed online, over the phone, or in-store. A trade-in cannot be added after the order is placed.

Trade-in shipping labels and order status

You have 30 days to return your old device for credit after your new device is shipped.

Customers with a T-Mobile ID

For the easiest and fastest trade-in experience, stop by a T-Mobile store with your old device to have it evaluated.

You can also ship your trade-in back to T-Mobile, where it can take up to two billing cycles for your trade-in credit to appear. Check your Account Order Status page to:

  • Print Return labels
  • Find your RMA
  • See your Trade-in accepted value
  • Find your Trade-in history
New customers without a T-Mobile ID

If you're new to T-Mobile and haven't set up a T-Mobile ID, make sure you have the below info and check your order status here.

  • Order number
  • Billing Zip Code
  • Last name
Equipment Installment Plan
Equipment Installment Plans offer interest free financing on qualified purchases
With our Equipment Installment Plans (EIP) you can pay for your purchase off over time, interest free. When you combine an EIP with Protection <360>, you're able to upgrade sooner using our built- in JUMP! 2.0 benefits.  If you have questions about your JUMP! 1.0 feature, give us a call at 1-800-937-8997.

Down Payment & Monthly Billing

  • Down payments depend on the chosen device and your credit qualifications.
  • Your down payment is due immediately and won't be reflected on your T-Mobile bill.
  • For lower monthly payments you can make a bigger down payment by calling Team of Experts or at a retail store.
  • EIPs may be 24 monthly payments, depending on device.
  • Accessories purchases that total over $49 are eligible for a 12-month EIP.
  • If you cancel wireless service, remaining balances on the device becomes due.

Best Pricing EIP

Smartphone Equality is a program that can help you get the best pricing on our devices regardless of your credit score.

  • T-Mobile customers who make 12 on-time payments in a row on a leased device on a qualifying plan will automatically qualify for the best possible pricing.
    • If you have Magenta or Magenta UNL 55+ and make 12 consecutive on-time payments, you will automatically qualify for Smartphone equality- the benefits can't be taken away.
    • If you have a prepaid plan and miss or are late on a payment before switching to a postpaid plan you will lose Smartphone equality benefits and your payment history will be reset.
  • To help prevent late payments, check out Autopay for postpaid accounts, or auto-refill for prepaid accounts to prevent this.
  • Most plans qualify for this program. You can call us at 1-800-937-8997 to be sure and learn more and check your current status.
JUMP! On Demand
With JUMP! on Demand you can lease some of our most popular devices!
JUMP! On Demand (JOD) is an 18-month lease agreement that lets you change your leased device once every 30 days. Since this is a lease and you aren't buying the phone, the monthly payments are reduced. You can buy the phone for the full retail later or keep upgrading! If you've already purchased your device using JOD, log in to your account to check the status
  • JOD is available for a selection of our best devices, but not all devices are a part of the program.
  • The list of available devices may change at any time.
  • Call Customer Care or visit a retail store to find out what devices are available.
  • JOD is not available online, you'll need to call or visit us to get started or upgrade your device.
  • Your monthly payments depend on your credit approval and the device you choose.
  • Leased devices must be returned in good working condition or you will be charged for the damage.
    • We suggest adding an optional handset insurance feature, Protection <360>, within 14 days of activating JOD.
    • Connecticut customers are required by law to obtain handset insurance for JOD leases.

At the end of your lease

  • Your JUMP! On Demand (JOD) agreement term is 18 months, as is stated in the agreement signed at the point of sale.
  • At the end of those 18 months, you can choose to:
    • Follow the steps below to turn the phone in and close your lease agreement.
    • Keep the phone and pay the Purchase Option Price (POP) found on your lease agreement.
  • If you take no action, the POP will automatically be added to your billing statement 30 days after the end of your lease agreement.

End of Lease turn-in

If you decide not to pay off and keep the phone it must be turned in at a T-Mobile store. You can then decide to start a new lease on a new phone or talk with our team about other upgrade options, such as EIP. When you return a leased phone, it must be in good working condition. Make sure the phone:

  • Has no cracks or other damage to the screen.
  • Has not been damaged by exposure to liquid.
  • Can power on.
  • Has not been materially altered, this includes both the original hardware & software.
  • Does not have activated anti-theft features, such as Find My iPhone.

To end your JOD lease before the 18-month lease term expires, there are a couple of choices:

  • Turn in the phone at a retail location in good working condition and pay the full amount of the remaining monthly lease installments
  • Pay the remaining monthly lease installments plus the full Purchase Option Price (POP) as stated on your lease agreement and keep the phone.
