U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs & T‑Mobile Make Telehealth More Accessible to Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs is announcing a partnership with T-Mobile to give customers unlimited access to VA Video Connect, the VA’s live telehealth service.

At the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Anywhere to Anywhere, Together Telehealth Summit today, Secretary Robert Wilkie announced a partnership with T-Mobile giving all T-Mobile and Metro customers with data plans unlimited access to VA Video Connect (VVC) without using their high-speed data. Video Connect is the VA’s telehealth app for streaming live video sessions between patients and health care providers. Now, T-Mobile and Metro customers can access their health care without using up their data bucket.

“These types of events will help accelerate our shared journey to fully integrated, seamless access to healthcare no matter where a Veteran resides,” said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. “Indeed, from anywhere to anywhere. We thank our industry and community partners for their commitment to improving Veterans’ health care.”

VA Video Connect uses smartphone or tablet cameras to let veterans talk and interact with their VA care team over a live, encrypted video stream. Accessing VA Video Connect is easy. For iOS devices, VA Video Connect is available at the Apple App Store. For all other devices, a telehealth session launches automatically after the emailed session link is selected.
