T-Mobile & MLB Un-leash Massive Fan Tribute to Baseball

Un-carrier’s Data Strong network brings together thousands of baseball fans

during Saturday’s 7th inning stretch in epic rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Bellevue, Washington – October 24, 2014 –T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS) and Major League Baseball today announced they’re delivering an epic nationwide tribute to the World Series and the tradition of the seventh-inning stretch created entirely by the fans. Fans across the U.S. have been invited to film themselves singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” which will be shared en masse in an historic tribute on national television tomorrow during the seventh inning of Game 4 of the World Series on FOX.

Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star center fielder Andrew McCutchen and teams from the League Championship Series, including the Baltimore Orioles, got the fun started earlier in the month by contributing their own renditions of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Even Snoop Dogg and DJ Steve Aoki have contributed their own versions of the American classic.

Over the past year, T-Mobile has worked with Major League Baseball to un-leash® fans of America’s national pastime. Because baseball fans in particular love accessing stats, replays and live feeds during games, T-Mobile has worked to deliver the best possible network experience to ballparks across the country. And for tomorrow’s special tribute to the game, the Un-carrier™ has made the most of its Data Strong™ network to collect and share videos from baseball fans across America.

T-Mobile and Major League Baseball chose “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” as the theme of the tribute to the game because it is such a quintessential part of every ballpark experience. In fact, according to the Baseball Hall of Fame, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” is commonly the third most frequently sung song in America−behind only “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Happy Birthday to You.”
