Re: No support for those affected by the 8/2021 data breach?

I agree that T-mobile should still offer the identity theft protection, especially if you received an alert from somewhere else. I put a freeze on my credit on all three credit agencies. Now I just need to remember to temporarily remove it if I need to allow a credit check sometime. Same here I already had McAfee Total Protection at the time of the Breach. Like you, I was informed by Credit Wise via Capital One that my SS, DL, Telnumber and zip code are on the dark web. At least 2 different law firms (Morgan and Morgan and another one) are signing victims up.14Views0likes0CommentsRe: WARNING! My iphone was hijacked. They stole my email, my tmobile account online, and my coinbase account,
This from theBreach last August ! John Binnstold the Wall Street Journalhe used a publicly-available tool to scan known Internet protocol (IP) addresses that are widely known to be used by T-Mobile, with the scan intended to discover security weaknesses connected to those IP addresses. He apparently found one at a datacenter in Washington state where he claims an Internet router used by T-Mobile was not properly secured. Binns told the newspaper his goal was to gain notoriety by “generating noise” about T-Mobile’s lackluster cybersecurity practices. The breach, which was disclosed earlier this month, is one of several involving the theft and leak of T-Mobile’s customer data over the last few years.5Views0likes0CommentsRe: Asus AX86U and T-mobile 5G Gateway

I have two RT-AX86U's, so I am very familiar with them. First thing to try is to keep your router setup the way you like it. However, the modem has no Bridge Mode. Try to disable the routing functions of the gateway manually so the T-Mobile modem acts solely as a modem. If that doesn't work out for you, you will have to reset the modem more than likely be able to access the configuration for the modem. Second thing to try is to manually disable some of the routing functions to achieve a half way point of the router being more of an access point but still preserving the functions you need. Hopefully one of these two things gets everything working the way you need it to me. Is there a way to disable the routing functions of the gateway so it only acts like a modem? The settings in the gateway are pathetically limited, and there are certainly no built in settings to do this. Is there some sort of workaround outside of the built in settings that you know of? You can go under Wifi Networks and disable SSID for both the 2.4 and the 5 GHz networks.8Views0likes0CommentsRe: T-Mobile 5G Connection Issues causing missed Texts, Calls, and Voicemail - NO DATA!

I have disabled 5g n71 (SA/NSA) as it typically has performance issues in urban areas. 4G LTE will typically give me 150-400Mbps, and 5G UC will give 500-1400Mbps. As far as Apple goes, i can't speak much for it, but have heard of some issues. If you disable n71 (easy on Samsung), you'll at least get LTE 600 in weak areas. What are these mystical speeds of which you speak? Going through my entire speedtest history on my S21, highest I’ve ever seen on mobile is 232 Mbps and that was on 5G (my home wifi is routinely 450+). And that test was made somewhere in downtown Austin, which tends to get early roll out of every new Cellular technology. Even that speed though doesn’t bother me, I have no heavy demands on data, mostly just streaming Spotify and using Google maps driving around. What is getting me is when I have 5G signal but no data AT ALL. I’d wouldn’t notice if it was over 10 Mbps, really I wouldn’t 99% of the time, but ZERO is unacceptable when it says I should have data (and the S21 can’t figure this situation out). I will look up disabling n71, see if maybe that helps. I get speeds between 150mbps and 700mbps in the Baltimore/Washington area with T-mobile 5g. At home, in Hanover Maryland (Anne Arundel County), I get faster speeds on my S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 ProMax than I get on my T-Mobile Home Internet device. 500mbps vs 200-350 mbps. But the home internet was fast enough that we gave up 600-850 mbps Verizon FIOS ($100/month vs $40 per month). I have to check to see which bands the phone connect to. As for the Nokia Gateway, it uses B66 for primary signal and n41 for secondary signal.9Views1like0CommentsRe: You are not allowed to make calls at this time
Same thing happened to me. I was on this forum by the time I got the call back. The rep was asking inane questions like whether I was in Airplane Mode….and having me repeat thinks like that receiving text and data was just fine. I actually have the “High Speed Data with paired Digits” plan. Calling and receiving calls failed on both devices sharing a paired line (iPhone 13 Pro Max and Galaxy S21 Ultra). Finally, the 2nd tech suggested that I do a network reset instead of removing Netflix rebooting and restoring Netflix. It actually worked!I can once again call and receive calls on both devices sharing that line.4Views0likes0Comments
