It was a good ride...
After 2+ years with T-Mobile on Magenta Max 55+, it was time to move on. Overall the experience was a positive one and served me well while waiting for a more reliable home internet option which has now arrived. In general no complaints other than the ill-advised change to autopay discount. It really came down to subpar coverage at home where most of my usage is now. On the road T-Mobile was great, but infortunately I don't live in the median, shoulder or rest area on I-95 and for cell service it came down to best and most reliab le cell coverage (phone and text) at home at the lowest price.334Views5likes3CommentsRe: 43151.0107 MB used on a working Monday at home
I’d still look into WIndows 11 in the event it was using hotpot data even if unintentional. One quirk it’s data usage reporting has is that it only shows data usage for the currently active network adapter and connection. I’d connect to the T-Mobile hotspot (or gateway whichever your using) and then check the data usage by apps - each WiFI connection is reported separately17Views0likes0CommentsRe: 43151.0107 MB used on a working Monday at home
Check your usage by app depending on your environment, it may provide some insight. https://binaryfork.com/windows-11-data-usage-2325/ https://www.howtogeek.com/688184/how-to-track-your-data-usage-on-android/ https://www.howtogeek.com/808021/how-to-see-which-apps-are-using-cellular-data-on-iphone/17Views0likes0CommentsRe: Data details
You would need to install a data usage monitoring and traffic analysis app on each of your devices. Alternately and if using your own router with the T-Mobile Home Internet gateway(s), you’d need a router that has traffic monitoring and analysis. Without knowing your requirements and specific operating environments, specific recommendations cannot be made.23Views0likes0CommentsRe: captcha
If referring to Google search, there’s a lengthy thread discussing that specific issue at: https://community.t-mobile.com/troubleshooting%2D38/google%2Dblocking%2Dsearch%2D52786 Google blames T-Mobile, T-Mobile blames Google and you’re stuck in the middle. Since it’s easier to switch search engines than internet providers, try a different search engine while Google and T-Mobile work out their differences - DuckDuckGo is my preference and I use it as my default search engine in my browser(s). https://duckduckgo.com/ There’s no shortage of alternate search engines; otherwise, it’s as@gramps28 says - the site determines when captcha is presented.21Views0likes0CommentsRe: Use existing router as an access point?
No, just suggesting setting it up as a router so you don’t lose any of its features - as an access point you’ll lose some features that are specific to that router. In both cases it starts with connecting your router’s WAN port to one of the TMobile ethernet ports… See66Views1like0Comments
