Hello, long story short T-Mobile is not unlocking my phone and not giving me a proper reason about it for over 2 weeks. After more than 10 calls and talked to around 20 people on the customer service side, they are not unlocking the phone. I know that’s basically violating the law. But wanted to ask first if there is anything I can do with T-Mobile before involving lawyers.13KViews4likes35CommentsUnlock iphone after years of getting the unlock notification
How can I get a new unlock notification email? My elderly dad got an email to unlock his Iphone 8 in 2017 but didn’t follow the instructions because he thought just paying and meeting the requirements were enough… And since it’s been years, I can’t create a tmobile account because the number isn’t showing as his anymore. Should I just call the support phone?Solved307Views1like1CommentiPhone eSIM temporary unlock while traveling abroad
HI, I would like to know if eSIM can be unlocked only while traveling abroad. We used to be with another carrier “V” as I heard they were the only one keeping the devices unlocked even while the phone is in installment. We switched to T-Mobile 9 months ago because T-Mobile sales representative offered cheaper monthly fee for seniors like us, upgrade to iPhone 15 and T-Mobile unlocks SIM temporarily for 30 days if requesting before traveling abroad even we are in equipment installment plan. Today I contacted for T-Mobile chat support as my wife is traveling to Japan from this weekend and was advised by a chatbot that we are not eligible to unlock because there is a balance for monthly device payment. I googled and read some people saying the temporary unlock is available only to Android phones. It seems to be not what T-Mobile does/doesn’t but rather hardware setting on Android. I also see certain iPhone can be unlocked only if installment plan is purchased from Apple store or Apple.com, which sounds weird to me why customers purchased directly from the carrier is limited in services. Although my Go5GPlus plan offers up to 5GB data included, I was informed I need to purchase international data pass after that ($35 for 5GB in 10 days, $50 for 15GB in 30 days), which sounds comparably expensive as long as I researched Japan local carriers’ prepaid data rate. We travel overseas only 1 or 2 in a year, so it is still cheaper when considering the monthly charges overall, but I just would like to know the correct information of iPhone under T-Mobile equipment installment plan. Could someone who was recently in the same situation or T-Mobile expert could clarify the most updated information? T-Mobile support cannot unlock Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra purchased from Samsung. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra from Samsung locked for T-Mobile. I enabled ESIM. Then I tried to unlock the phone myself but was getting error message that the phone or IMEI was not on T-Mobile system. Contacted both T-Mobile support and Samsung support several times. T-Mobile support repeated that they could not unlock the phone because it was purchased from Samsung. Samsung support repeated that they legally cannot unlock the phone because the phone is used in T-Mobile network and only T-Mobile can unlock the phone. Contacted T-Mobile Technical support and they cannot help either. Each time T-Mobile said they were escalating the issue and I have to wait 24 to 48 hours. But no luck. My wife is in South Korea and she cannot use a local SIM in her phone. Any suggestion?Solved3.6KViews1like18Comments
