trade in credit
43 TopicsT-mobile refusing to give me my credits from a promotion I qualified for
Just a heads-up, this will be very long. Don't know how to tldr In late May, I decided to migrate from sprint to t-mobile because there was a running promotion that stated that I can receive a free Galaxy S21 in the form of $800recurring credits over the span of 24 months if I opened a new line (didnt matter which plan) and traded in an eligible phone that would qualify for them. So I went with my brother to a local t-mobile store to trade in my S10 and his iPhone X; both phones qualified for the $800 trade in promotion. My brother is the account holder and has been a loyal sprint customer for something like 5 years at this point so his account was in good standing, therefore he qualified for the promotion. My brother had to mail his phone out for the trade-in because it wasn't fully paid off but in the end, we both received the S21's at the store. The problem, however, was that T-Mobile sent the mailing kit to our previous address (we had moved a few months earlier) and it didn't occur to us until about 2 weeks later. My brother went to the store to inform them of the situation but they said they couldn't do anything on their end because his PIN wasn't working or something, and that in order to reset it he had to wait 30 days. He waited 30 days and went back to the store, same issue, only this time the staff couldn't even sign into my brother's account because they were getting the same errors we were getting when trying to access the site ("Whoops! Looks like our wires are crossed!") At this point we've noticed that we're being charged for each of the phones. I call customer care and I learn that the promotion was never applied to the account. They told me because one of the 2 phones weren't traded in, the promotion didn't take effect on any level. So I traded in my s10 for free essentially. However, after lots of back and forth, they finally applieda lump sum of $350, which will be part of the $500 in credits I'll be recieving for theCURRENT trade-in promotion, instead of the $800 in credits I was supposed to receive from the promotion at the time (late may). Keep in mind, the current $800 trade promotion requires you to start a new Magenta MAX line, when before the magenta type did not matter. Customer caretold me the promotion I was talking about was available only for 1 day, and that it was a typo on T-Mobile's end. I did a lot of research before going through with the trade in and that particular promotion was being talked about A LOT on forums and on Redditfor a couple of months, so what the supervisor from customer care was telling me was blatantly untrue. Not only that, but I can see the promotions from previous dates on Wayback Machine! I'll post the links, and even attach some screenshots. 1. This is what the CURRENT promotion looks like: https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/samsung-phone-deals Note the "MAX" 2.This is what the promotion looked like when I applied. https://web.archive.org/web/20210523051210/https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/samsung-phone-deals Note the absence of "MAX" 3. As a reference, this was the ORIGINAL promotion from February. https://web.archive.org/web/20210208034631/https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/samsung-phone-deals Note the absence of needing to activate anew line There's a pattern. As time went on, the more stringent the promotion became. I understand that my brother should have been more preemptive on his end, but I get the short end of the stick here because I traded in my phone hoping I'd be getting recurring credits for 2 years that would essentially be paying off the S21, but instead the lump sum I received will be going towards the entire phone bill, and will cover the total cost for about 2 months, which means I still have to pay off my S21 for the remainder of the 24 months anyways. The fact that all of these agents and that one particular idiot of a supervisor keep telling me that that promotion never existed is infuriating me. What can I do? Can i file a claim or something? I feel misled, cheated, and taken advantage of. Thanks in advance to anybody who decides to help6.1KViews1like20CommentsTrade-in amount
I was told that I will get $800 trade-in amount for my old mobile and adjusted across 24months bills for the new phone. So I gave my old phone and took the new phone. But in the first monthbill t was not reflected (aprox $33.33 credit should applied). When I asked they mentioned I need to wait for 2 bill cycles to adjust the trade-in amounts. After 3rd bill also it is not reflected. Now they are telling $800 trade-in amount was wrong and I will get only $200 trade-in amount. If they say this I wouldn’t even took a new phone. My old phone is in perfect condition and working nicely. With this kind of false promise/offers they are giving me trouble and demanding the monthly extract amount ? Being a T-Mobile management request you to sort this issue and help me to get my $800 trade-in amount.24KViews7likes20CommentsMath doesn't add up
Dear Customer service, I am new to T-Mobile and I am enjoying the service. But I have a few questions concerning my account and the invoices. I am on the Go5g 55+ for 2 lines for 90.00 plus 11.25 each for a total of the month for 112.50. I got a trade in credit of 275.00 for each I phone 13 pro for a total credit of 550.00. The cost of the new phones I phone 15 pro is 1099.99 each for a total of 2199.98. I also recieved P716 Apple Activate ID 240197 which is 45.84 - 23.13 = 22.71 for each phone. If you take 23.13 and multiply by 24 months equals 555.12 for each iphone for a total of 1,110.25 add with 550.00 (trade in credit for phone) a grand total credit of 1,660.25 for both phones. Now the cost of the news phones is 2199.98 and subtract 1,660.25 equals 539.73 or what I owe for both phones. That is not what my statement is saying. If you divide this 539.73 by half which is 269.86 for each phone. Then divide that by 24 months I should be paying 11.24 each month for each phone. But I am being charged 22.71 for each phone. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Sharon Raymer227Views1like3CommentsT Mobile Took My Phone Credits
So I upgraded my iPhone 13 to the iPhone 15 Pro upon ordering the lady sent me one with the wrong memory so upon receiving it I called them exchanged it for iPhone 15 pro with The largest memory they gave me buyers remorse, even though it wasn’t my fault upon exchanging the phones they took my credit away for my trade-in because their system messed up upon doing that I have to wait three months to get my credit now so I’m inconvenienced because T-Mobile system didn’t recognize it as a trade inand took my trade in phone credit back absolutely ridiculous!!!!36Views1like0CommentsIs this what being a T-Mobile customer is like?
I’m here to ask while I still have a chance to escape T-Mobile if I need to. So I took advantage of the promotion that T-Mobile had where you could get $800/phone when you trade in a qualifying device when activating a new line of service. I had two iPhone XS and a Galaxy S9 from Verizon that I was trading in and porting in the new number. That was Tuesday evening (1/11/22). The call was all over the place and didn’t go smoothly but it seemed like it ended the right way. I asked multiple times to confirm I would be receiving the $800 credit towards each of my new purchases, paid the tax, and submitted the order over the phone. I received the new phones on Thursday evening (1/13/22). Due to the fact that I needed to make sure all of our stuff was backed up on our phones and my mother’s, I couldn’t activate the phones right away. I did it today, 3 days later on 1/16/22. Before I confirmed the order, I asked if boxes would be sent so I could ship the trade-ins to T-Mobile. She said that there would be. No boxes came with the order. She also said that I could take them to my nearby T-Mobile store and turn them in there if I was more comfortable doing that. Given that there was $2400 on the line and I wanted to make sure my trade-in phones arrived in the same condition as they left my house (pristine), I decided to bring them to the store. I took them to the Monticello, MN location and right away the guy told me he wouldn’t take the phones because I didn’t buy them there. I told him I had no idea where to send them because I didn’t receive shipping labels or boxes. He said he would print them out for me...but then he looked up our phones and said that there were no promotions for our devices and that he couldn’t help us. First thing...it seemed apparent to me that they just didn’t want to help us at the store since we bought it over the phone/had the new phones shipped. Second, the guy was pretty arrogant. Thirdly, when I called to try to things taken care of, they told me it was going to be an hour long wait. Sure...when I called to setup new service, there was no wait. Now after I’ve already activated, I get put to the back of the line and need to wait an hour. So I set the call back option so that when it was my turn T-Mobile would call me back. They call back a little over an hour later and the person that gets on the line hangs up on me immediately. So I call the new sales line...get someone on the phone immediately, and explain to them what’s going on. They tell me that the rep that setup my order did not enter the trade-ins or the promotion and that we were no longer eligible for that offer. They’re refusing to honor it retroactively as well even though they see the order was made on that date and can review the calls where I confirmed multiple times that the promotion would be applied. I almost blew my top. This is still not resolved but now my lines are no longer on Verizon and I really have no recourse at all except to migrate our data back over to the older phones, return the phones and try to get Verizon to re-enable our lines. I have NEVER had a worse experience with a cell-phone company. Has anyone else experienced anything similar with T-Mobile?Solved2.8KViews5likes11CommentsT-Mobile Trade-In Gone Wrong
So I’m still dealing with a trade-in issue from just over a year ago. I mailed my device in, pictures and video of me packing the box, the box taped, with their prepaid label, the tracking number they provided showing it was delivered to the facility, etc. Why go through the extra hassle of photo/video, you may ask, because this happened once before with AT&T by mail trade-in. Well, you can guess what happened. T-mobile claims they see that it was received by their facility but not one person can tell me what was in the package. They claim they cannot find the device in their facility. So I ask, then what notes are made regarding the the receipt of the box and its contents. No notes, no nothing. As far as I can tell, they lost it. USPS says it was delivered and received by them, yet T-Mobile customer service just keeps filing claims to say they’ll look for it. 6-8 weeks later, the claim is closed, no notes or updates regarding it, and never once do they follow up. I have to call them, and each time they say they’ll need to log another claim and I’ll need to wait another 6-8 weeks. I’m so frustrated I’m ready to cancel their service just like I did AT&T. I want to do more. Any one have suggestions?635Views0likes5CommentsHow many tries does it take to get my porting credits added to my account?
I ported over during the holiday from Verizon, I brought over 2 phones with numbers along adding a 3rd line. I was promised up to $800 per line to transfer from Verizon and I can’t get any help on this, not 1 person wants to own it, HOW CAN I GET THE HELP!?!?27Views0likes0Comments2021 Apple Trade P16
I did anApple Trade-In offer in September 2021 turning in my iPhone X for which I was supposed to get $800. The terms were for 24 months, I am now at 29 of 24 (mind you) with 1 more month to go. I am getting $21.84 credit a month. So far I only have $633.36credited and it will be $655 by the time I am done. THIS IS NOT the $800 promised (and noit wasn’t up to $800). I actually have a screenshot of the offer. I am very disappointed and wished TMobile would stick with their original offer. Anybody else had this issue?28Views0likes0Comments
