I was calling one of my friends who hasn’t responded in a while. I called them. They sent a voicemail because they hadn’t responded for a few days. I decided OK you know what I’ll just do urgent delivery when I clicked The number two on the dial pad it said message sent then said service temporarily unavailable. Has anyone had the same issue because I’m trying to find out what has happened so if anyone has the same problem, please post about it too74Views0likes1CommentNetwork has become unusable, and no one will help...
I used to have an amazing experience with 200MB or better download speeds over the last couple of years on T-Mobile in my NYC apartment. As an employee and ex-employee I have continued to promote T-Mobile to my friends and family. A couple of months ago, something changed. I show 5 bars of 5G and 5 bars of 4G service back and forth, but there arepractically zero services. The internet if I can even get it to register with a speed test, is 1 MB download speed at best - It’s unusable, and phone calls connect, but the other party can’t hear most of what I’m saying most of the time. This is on multiple lines on my account in my location and on my wife's phone on her own account also at this location. The issue is all around my neighborhood - approximately a2-3 block radius in every direction. Even my brother has these issues when he comes to visit. Something has changed on the network - not sure if it’s 2 towers competing or what… Multiple calls to care and they keep troubleshooting my phone and sending resets to it. They’re not listening to me when I tell them it’s multiple lines on multiple accounts. They asked me to factory reset my phone (more than once) and like an idiot, I complied with these requests. Considering it’s on multiple lines, and only an issue at my home leads me to the conclusion that it is NOT an issue with my Galaxy S22 Ultra, or my wifes iPhone 12+, or my LG V60+ or my brothers Pixel 7, or my Galaxy Watch 5 (with plan). Still, every call ends up with the same troubleshooting. They asked me if I have wifi and if I can connect to it. I said yes - my wifi works great. WiFi calling does NOT work any better though. And, I pay for phone service with high-speed data so I don’t have to use my home WiFi. Still, I tried but no dice with making calls over WiFi calling. I finally grudgingly threatened to port out, and they instantly put me in touch with the next level of tech support. After an hour of rehashing everything, they opened up 2 network tickets. One for me, one for my wife. I haven’t heard a peep from anyone, and the service is still unusable. So, what are my next steps? It’s not just my home, so others must have complained in this area.560Views0likes5Comments5G router connects to internet but won't provide internet - force to 4G?
I foolishly bought a 5G router from China - the specs are great and it seems to work, only it doesn’t like my T-mobile SIM. I bought an unlimited weekly 5G sim from HT.HR (part of T-mobile). When inserted into the router it connects to the network on 5G However my PC connected (via wifi or ethernet) will not get internet through this router. If I put in another SIM from a different mobile network, it does get internet OK on the PC. There are v few settings on this router but I’ve put in the APN, and every setting I can re. PAP/CHAP but nothing helps, and ht.hr and the router supplier are no help. Oh if I put this sim into a 4G mobile phone, it will connect and give me internet as a hotspot. My idea was to try to force the SIM/Router to use 4G instead of 5G, but no idea if I can or how to do it. Any ideas?112Views0likes1CommentHigh-Speed Internet Gateway does not work with some apps on T-mobile Home Wifi Internet
I don’t know if anybody can help. Encountered a few deal breaking moments with T-mobile Home Wifi internet. I get a whopping 100-235mbps with my High-Speed Internet Gateway but it prevents full access to apps causing extreme lag spikes, pages not loading and video not playing with Amazon Prime Video (on PS4 and on Amazon Fire Stick 4k), TD Ameritrade trading platform for Windows 10, and to a lesser extent apps like Epic Games on PC I also have T-vision TV package, that works fine. So does Netflix. Epic games was able to be fixed once telling PC to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. respectively. I had to use Nord VPN to get TD Ameritrade to function correctly without freezing at times, DNS change did not work here. Amazon prime video is still a no go, constantly stops and takes a long time to load again only to stop again. DNS change also did not resolve the issue. It should still work with Nord VPN because it bypasses all T-Mobile filters, but I did not buy T-mobile Home WiFi internet to need the VPN all the time, so I did not bother trying VPN with Prime Video. Is that something we can possibly fix in firmware? And soon please? Speaking of firmware. There is no place to get a new Firmware update which the High-Speed Internet Gateway critically needs. It lacks too many features. One the most needed features is to allow the High-Speed Internet Gateway to turn in just a modem and turn off all routing features so that users can bring their own independent routers to handle DHCP and other advanced functions. High-Speed Internet Gateway also has a bug where I can not fully disable all of the WiFi Signals. You can stop broadcast and SSID from being announced and reduce the radio power for 2.4ghz and 5ghz from 100% down to 12% but it is still not entirely off. I can still see a 5ghz band displaying a signal and allows me to connect when WiFi is supposed to be disabled. Apparently there is a 5Ghz low and 5Ghz high antenna mode. And the 5ghz high is the one that remains visible and usable. Can not be turned off. I don’t want to use the hub for wifi, just want to use hard wired internet. I hope to see these issues addressed in the next firmware update with a resources on where we can obtain the new firmware update file as right now there is no information on that anywhere for the new High-Speed Internet Gateway. At the very least I want to see the simple feature of turning the gateway into a modem all by itself and I can handle all the routing on my end instead and if it comes to it I can do a whole house VPN that way and bypass all the problems. Older gateways had the expert mode from what I could see, please bring that back too if you can. Thank you for reading! And for the help! Mike P.S. I have already tried turning it off and back on again, obviously does not work. VPN seems to be the only way to bypass all the problems, but since the unit can not disable routing to act solely as a modem, I can not use a separate router for DHCP and to run VPN for the whole house.9.2KViews7likes21CommentsModernization speeds all over the place
Hi, We live in a rural area and rarely get over 2 bars of cell service on LTE with download speeds MAYBE as good as 15mbps. Recently, things got worse and our bars have been dropping to nothing, or 1 bar, with speeds of under 1mbps. I called T-Mobile and was told that they were doing Modernization of the towers and that it should be done within a few days. Fast forward to today (a week later) speeds were still bad until this morning when I woke up to 2 bars of 5G with download speeds of over 100mbps! To my delight, I thought we were getting somewhere and that T-Mobile had finally delivered on the promise they made over a year ago that things were being upgraded and improved. That lasted for approximately 1 hour, then we dropped off the face of the earth again, back down to record low, unusable LTE speeds of less than 1mbps. My question is, obviously we now know we are capable of receiving 5G and super good speeds, but my worry is that this happened by accident or some fluke and we won’t be getting anywhere near this once modernization is complete. Any insight into how this modernization works, the technical side of these things, or if we should hold our breath would be great. As I’m writing this, I now have 1 bar of 5G back and getting 70.5 mbps down! Please Lord, please let this hold! Hubby and I have been working from home for the last year with terrible speeds, and have been praying for a solution this wholetime. Thanks for any insight! Apparently people with a Sonim XP3 were told their phones wouldn’t work after January 1, 2022. Well, mine still works. Now I am getting regular texts from T-mobile saying my phone won’t work after July 1, 2022. Should I believe it? The texts say T-mobile is getting rid of 3G and that I should “upgrade” my device. The XP3 is a 4G LTE phone, so why should this affect me? I would consider any other device a downgrade anyway, since I hate both touchscreen phones and the KaiOS they install on most flip phones. Is this just a marketing ploy?924Views1like7CommentsDoes anyone else get slower connections on 5G than 4G?
Initially I received good speeds of up to 200 megabits with my home internet on the primary signal. Unfortunately, as soon as I started getting better 5G signals my speed dropped like a rock. As soon as the secondary/5G signal becomes stronger than the primary/4G signal I get around 15 megabits with manymore latency and connection reliability issues. For some reason, upload speeds are faster than download when I connect to 5G. The bandwidth drop is immediate and consistent whenever the 5G signal becomes stronger than 4G. This is accompanied by problems with streaming videos. If the 4G becomes stronger than bandwidth is faster again until 5G becomes stronger and so on. When I called T-Mobile they said that the issue is due to “modernization” updates they are making that will soon clear up but I’ve already had the issue for over a month so that just feels like a brush off. Does anyone else have this issue? I’m tempted to open up the router and disconnect the 5G antenna. Moving the router doesn’t help me because then I get either the same issue or poor 4G and 5G connections.1.7KViews0likes4CommentsI received this to my TM phone: "T-Mobile: Introducing the Free 5G upgrade...."
April 27l 2021 I received this to my TM phone: “T-Mobile: Introducing the Free 5G upgrade. We're going to trade up your limited plan to UNLIMITED - for free! There's nothing else to do and nothing else to pay. It's the gift of Unlimited just for being a loyal customer. Get the details: t-mo.co/freeUnlimited1” My current plan limits are: “You currently have Select Value 30MB Data SMHS: Includes up to 30 MB of high-speed data on T-Mobile's network for no extra charge. Smartphone Mobile HotSpot service included. Speeds slowed after 30 MB.” • so am I getting same 30MB / month LIMIT but at 5G speed? – or – * am I getting UNLIMITED but still at 4G LTE? – or – • UNLIMITED and at 5G speed? Searched the website but only found this that sounds related to the UPGRADE (which I seem to be getting without even asking): “THE FREE 5G UPGRADEUnlimited 5G.Free 5G phone. Switch to an unlimited plan at T-Mobile—with access to our full 5G network—for the same or better price as a Verizon or AT&T limited plan. Plus,…. So, I will be switching to an unlimited plan at T-Mobile (apparently) and website says – if I do – I get the same Free 5G upgrade as the text message informed mel2.2KViews0likes5Comments
