5G Gateway
Is the Gateway just a modem or also a router?
We are having mediocre signal in our house and I have a TP-Link extender and cannot seem to get it connected to the Gateway to boost signal in the house.
T-Mobile gateways function as both modems and routers. T-Mobile supplies one of two 5G gateways, the Nokia and the Arcadyan.
The TP-link instructions usually have two options, “quick setup using the WPS button” and “quick setup using your web browser”. I don’t believe either gateway has a WPS button, so you should choose setup using web browser.
You need to explicitly follow the instructions and there shouldn't be any problems. Another option is to download the TP-link “Tether” app and it will guide you through the process. The app is available both in the Play Store and the App Store.
